PREVENTING RADICALISM AND IMPROVING JOURNAL WRITING

“By the 5th sound of the gong, we declare our support for Indonesia and Pancasila,” Prof. Dr. Marsigit, M.A said on the opening of campus introduction program for new graduate students of UNY. The program has the theme “The Challenge of World Class University in Industrial Revolution 4.0.” The university has to maintain the roles as academic institution with critical value, opening the space for discourses that promote mutual dialogue.

INAUGURATION OF PROFESSOR IN EDUCATION MANAGEMENT

Globalization is a challenge that must be faced. In the digital era, it is easy to get information anytime and anywhere. Both of industrial revolution 4.0 era and society 5.0 era give a hint for our future challenges. People on Society 5.0 has the ability to solved problem using innovation related internet of things, big data, Artificial Intelligence, sophisticated robots and various modern machines. As stated by Prof. Dr. Lantip Diat Prasojo, M.Pd. in his inaugural speech as Professor in Education Management at the Faculty of Education UNY.

PROF. DR. GULTEKIN CAKMAKCI LECTURE ON SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM)

Prof. Dr. Gultekin Cakmakci from Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey gave a general lecture at UNY Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He presented Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). STEM has been the latest approach that is growing rapidly lately. This program has attracted UNY lecturers and students. Most of students are from chemistry education and physics education.  Prof. Dr. Gultekin started his presentation on STEM introduction.

GEDUNG MERAH FESTIVAL FOR FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES NEW STUDENTS

New student of UNY Social Sciences Faculty attended Festival Gedung Merah or commonly refered as FGM.    The event was held at Taman Pancasila UNY and attended by around 650 new students. The festival was held annually by the committee of new students’ orientation. This event is expected to entertain and introduce 15 students’ organization, community and students club activity to 2019 freshmen. 

EGG BASED COOKING CLASS FOR NGENTAK II HAMLET PEOPLE

Team K063 who participated UNY community service program held egg based cooking class in Ngentak II Hamlet, Kalibening village. The program successfully attract 37 housewives as participants and also attended by the head village of Kalibening.  This activity is set as a response on Ngentak II hamlet potential that branded the hamlet as a famous center for laying hen in Kalibening. The cooking class is expected to give added value for the produced eggs and opening further business opportunity.

INSPIRATION CLASS AT SDN JETIS JOGOPATEN: IMPROVING INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING

UNY Graduate Students held an Inspiration Class at SDN Jetis Jogopaten, Sleman. This event is set to introduce various culture in the world for children in elementary school level.  There are 40 students  from SDN Jetis Jogopaten participated and 2 invited inspirators who were UNY international Students from China and Nigeria.

MEDALS FOR UNY TENNIS AND BADMINTON TEAM FROM THE INTERNATIONAL SPORT VIESTA COMPETITION IN MALAYSIA

UNY has sent tennis and badminton team to participate in the International Sport Viesta Competition held at the University of Mara Technology (UiTM), Selangor, Malaysia on 31 July to 4 August 2019.  Each team consist of 10 students and accompanied by 2 official and 1 supervisor. In this competition, UNY tennis team win gold medal for team event category. For UNY badminton team, there are silver medal for team event category and individual men’s single category.

UNY STUDENTS EXPERIENCE: INTERNATIONAL CREDIT TRANSFER IN THAILAND AND TEACHING PRACTICE PROGRAM IN PHILIPPINES

Zahra Noor A’yuna, Diqna (Biology Education), Ratna Hardiyanti Ma’fudhoh (Biology) and Rina Musannadah (Mathematics Education) are not only completed their academic course in their respective study program in UNY, but also  have interesting experience to share (5/8/2019).
