To support the attempt to be a World Class Educational University, UNY continues to strive to build and enhance cooperation with various other universities, both domestically and internationally. The good cooperation between universities, especially with overseas partners, will strengthen UNY in the international academic arena. UNY will gain experience of interacting internationally and have the opportunity to implement and manage international collaborative activities.

Literacy ability is very important because it can determine academic success. This ability is closely related to how to read and write properly and correctly. The student environment must support the literacy movement of parents, teachers and the community. Literacy can be supported by a literacy environment in the form of playing with block letters, reading fairy tales, watching learning videos, listening to fairy tales, and facilitating interactive learning media for alphabet recognition.

There are many Indonesian cultures that are slowly fading away with modernity. Puppet is one example. For Muarifah (2016 History Education) and friends, this is a problem. He wants to help preserve puppets in order to remain known to young people.

The 2019 International Conference on Online and Blended Learning (ICOBL) organized by Graduate School of UNY in collaboration with National Central University Taiwan aims to gather researchers, scientists, scholars and learners to exchange ideas and share new experiences and thoughts on all aspects of Online and Blended Learning. Education is a conscious and planned effort to create an atmosphere of learning and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have spiritual spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and the skills needed by themselves, the community and the nation. There are many reasons why character education must be a priority in education. For this reason, on September 6, 2017, President Joko Widodo signed Presidential Decree no. 87 of 2017 concerning Strengthening Character Education.

Faculty of Engineering  in collaboration with PT Mayora held a job recruitment session There were several position offered such as technical head section, production head section, quality control head section, Engineering head section, quality control analyst and many more.  The recruitment proses has been completed on 22 to 23/8/2019.

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Yogyakarta State University (FIS UNY) successfully held The 3rd International Conference of Social Sciences and Education (The 3rd ICSSED) with the main theme "Challenges of Social Sciences and Education for Achieving SDGs".

Website is an important media for schools. It has the potential as a database that can be seen by the wider community. News, photos, infographics and videos can be presented through this media. This important necessity has driven UNY Graduate School Lecturers Team to organize a community service program to boost the internet based skill of teacher at LP Ma'arif NU Yogyakarta.

As part of implementation of cooperation on student mobility program, UNY accepted 13 students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to have short course program. Dr. Nurul Khotimah, M.Sc. said that the idea for the program started with the proposal from UKM for a short visit to UNY’s Faculty of Social Sciences. The idea then developed further in the form of short course. By doing so, the visit gave further benefit for both UNY and UKM.
