SOFT SKILLS TRAINING FOR UNY FRESHMEN STUDENTS

There are three activities that must be completed by UNY new students, namely soft skill training; Pro-Tefl tutorials and English Language test; and ICT training. Those three are part of UNY attempt to make its students into excellent, creative, innovative, pious, self-reliant and intellectual person. By completing the soft skill training, it is expected that UNY graduates will be an exceptional alumni with good skill on communication, collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving as well as creativity and innovation.

UNY STUDENTS WORK IN SOFT OPENING OF KAMPOENG DOLANAN WALITELON UTARA, TEMANGGUNG

 

Walitelon Utara village officially open “Kampoeng Dolanan Walitelon Utara” (Walitelon Traditional Game Village) Sunday (4/8). The event was held at Papringan Walitelon Utara, Temanggung. The soft opening was held in order to introduce the Walitelon Utara Village to the community, especially Temanggung Regency as a traditional game based village or dolanan.

UNY GRADUATE SCHOOL STUDENTS ON CIVICS EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM PUBLISHED BOOK BASED ON INNOVATION

Innovation is a must for education in this dynamic and competitive era. To improve this point, producing more literature relating to the study of innovation will be one of the efforts. Thus, students of graduate school on civics education published book entitled” Inovasi Pembelajaran Kewarganegaraan Abad Ke-21” (Innovation of Civics Education Learning in the 21st century) in collaboration with UNY Press. This book is a compilation of UNY students’ essays from class 2018 who took course on Civics Education Learning Innovation.

IMPROVING UNIVERSITY REPUTATION THROUGH RESEARCH RESULT

There are 3 kind of research schemes namely basic research, applied research and development research. The substance of the research covers areas of focus, themes and topics that refer to the national research priorities 2020-2024 namely food, energy, drug health, transportation, engineering, defense and security, maritime affairs, social humanities, arts and culture, education and multidisciplinary research fields and cross sector.

ANTIAGING FACE CREAM FROM KROKOT PLANTS

Krokot or purslane plants (Portulaca oleracea L) are plants that grow wild. It grow well even on dry land thanks to its good adaptability to harsh environment. Unfortunately this plant mostly become unwanted weed in annually crop. The good news is that this plant actually has the potential for herbal cosmetic. This valuable information has driven Silviana Nugraheni and Ranum Wanudya Yunas from chemical study program, Ratna Puji Rahayu from accounting program and Aulawi Nulad Utami from economic education study program to process krokot as antiaging face cream.

TRAINING ON LEGAL AND CONTRACT DRAFTING

Understanding contract drafting is very important for the management of higher education institution because there will be activities that require agreements with other parties, such as cooperation agreements or procurement of goods and services. The existence of this agreement brings legal consequences for the parties, therefore understanding the contract drafting is necessary as an anticipation of legal issues that may occur. As stated by Iffah Nurhayati in training on legal and contract drafting in the UNY Senate Meeting Room, Tuesday (30/7).

SUPPORTING ENVIROMENTAL FRIENDLY ENTREPENEURSHIP TRHOUGH ECOPRINT TRAINING AT DUNGKASI

UNY Students who is participated in community service program at Dungkasi Hamlet, Gunungkidul held ecoprint training. UNY Students who run the training are organized in K030 team.  In this program, 27 people participated. The training is conducted based on the students’ observation on the lack of leaves as raw material for worth to sale products. There are two invited trainer, Nugroho Aji Wibowo and Wulan Agustina. Both of them are UNY students majoring in crafts education department.

SETTING BETTER MINDSET ON WASTE FOR CHILDREN THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL LITERATION PROGRAM

To improve children awareness on healthy environment, UNY students from K008 team organized an Environmental Literation Program at Ngablak Elementary school, Bantul. This program involves students from the 5th grade at SDN Ngablak. This activity successfully attracted students’ enthusiasm in learning further about environment.
