FACULTY OF SPORT SCIENCES UNY SHARES EXPERIENCE WITH THE FACULTY OF SPORT SCIENCES UNS

The development of science and technology demands the quality of a university to continue to develop and innovate. Faculty of Sport Sciences UNY always strives to do teaching, research, community service, and produce graduates who are in accordance with the challenges of the current era. This was conveyed by the Dean of Faculty of Sport Sciences, Prof. Dr. Wawan S. Suherman in his welcoming speech on 'sharing management' with the Sebelas Maret University Sports Faculty (UNS).

HEALTH SHOES FROM SALAK WASTE

Health footwear in form of reflexology sandals is quite common to find in Indonesia. It is also possible to find reflexology shoes in the market. Nifta Noor Halimah, Nurul Wulan Sari and Evania Dian Widyastuti from educational technology study program, Alfi Meilan Khasanah from economic education study program and Hasna Ulfah Edwina from Biology study program have the idea to make health shoes from Salak waste. Most of manufacturers of Salak products only use the fruit. Any unused seeds and skin are discarded free of charge and have no use value.

UNY STUDENTS DEVELOP LEARNING MEDIA ON CULTURAL CHARACTER STRENGTHENING BASED ON LIGHT SENSOR AUDIO

Endah Istiqomah (Elementary School Teacher Education), Hindun Nur Aisyah (PG-PAUD), and Nur Milati (Mechatronics Education) developed a media to strengthening  character culture through audio-based pop up learning for elementary school students.

"The media pop up that we developed support the effort to instill cultural learning and introduce diverse Indonesian cultures to children," said Endah as the learning media developer leader .

UNY FRESHMAN STUDENTS MUST PREPARE TO ENTER THE NEW WORLD

Each academic year will have  the Introduction of Campus Life for New Students Program or PKKMB for UNY new students. The soft skills program hopefully will help the freshmen to enter university life.  They will also have general lecture that will give the hint on how to succeed in digital era and the importance of time management that can be quite different compared with high school life.

Indonesia has rich medicinal plants.  Unfortunately, the lack of information or research has made these valuable plants are not fully utilized or developed. For this reason, Andi Kurnia (Mathematics Education), Qonitah (Chemistry Education), Khusnul Mutohharoh (Biology Education), Khoirriah Widyasari (Biology Education), and David Suryo Negoro (Economic Education) developed anti-mosquito lotion as well as skin care from extracts biduri (calontropis gigantean) leaves.

Bullying cannot be underestimated. If it is not prevented, this can threaten mental health which will have an impact on one's physical health, harmony between people, and national integration. However, there is one type of abuse that is still often underestimated by most people, even though the effects are quite powerful, namely verbal abuse. Verbal abuse is a form of violation of politeness language values.
