Covid-19 does not stop the 2020 Energy Saving Car Contest (KMHE). This competition was continued to be held at Universitas Indonesia on 26-30 November 2020 online. In this competition, the Garuda UNY Team won two titles, namely 1st place in the Internal Combustion Engine and Transmission Criteria and 3rd Winner Overall Criteria.

UNY Postgraduate Students Association have implemented community service programs through the Sahabat Desa (SADESA) program. This program was carried out online on 19 November 2020 with the theme "Strong Literacy, Great Village: Building a Sustainable Community Reading Culture".

UNY officially inaugurated Prof. Dr. Dadan Rosana, M.Si, as the Professor from the Science Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the UNY Auditorium (21/11). He delivered a scientific oration entitled Integrated STEAM Learning Gamelan Music Ethnoscience and AOGS in HOTS Development Towards SDGs in Education. Thus, the total number of professors that UNY has as many as 166 person.

This means that 1.1 gram (1 / 4 teaspoons) of clay mineral samples from the soil have a surface area of 100 m2, which is the same as the area of a football field. This indicates that although physically the clay mineral is very small, it has a very large substance for life. "Indonesian soil binds various minerals and elements needed by plants.

The Civil Engineering and Planning Education Department developed an academic collaboration program with Beihang University, Beijing-China. This activity was held from March to November 2020. This activity aims to increase academic horizons and improve the quality of education. Various activities have been carried out including guest lecturers, visiting professors, visiting researchers, joint research and publications.
