WINNING SIX AWARDS, UNY ROBOTICS TEAM ACHIEVED OVERAL MAJOR CHAMPION AT REGIONAL 3 KONTES ROBOT INDONESIA 2019

Kontes Robot Indonesia (KRI) or Indonesia Robot Contest is a robot competition for all universities in Indonesia. This competition is held at regional and national level. On April 27, 2019, UNY Robotics Team has competed in regional 3 level. At this level, university who participated coming from Yogyakarta, Central Java and Kalimantan. Universitas Jendral Sudirman became the host for the event.

RESEARCH ON PELAWAN WOOD SKIN AS NATURAL TEXTILE DYES

Indonesia has many natural material to offer for textile use. Unfortunately, the use of plant as natural material for textile and batik craftsmanship has not been used optimally. Most of craftsmen prefer to use synthetic dyes that is potentially harmful for the environment. It is interesting to note that many plants has the potential as dyestuffs. The colour produced from natural material has been acknowledged for its unique characteristic and giving a high selling value for fashion use.

ANSWERING EDUCATION PARADIGM DISRUPSION

Industrial Revolution 4.0 Era is characterized by uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. To deal with it, those who teach have to mastering digital skills. Such message is pointed out at the national seminar held by UKMF Reality on 14 April 2019. The national seminar theme which themed “Optimizing the Role of Millennial Generation in Industrial Revolution 4.0” has invite two speakers. There are Dr. Samto from Ministry of Education and Culture and Prof. Dr. Sugiyono, M.Pd from Faculty of Engineering UNY.

GARUDA UNY TEAM READY TO COMPETE IN SHEEL ECO MARATHON 2019

Garuda UNY Team met the rector to confirm the next participation in the Shell Eco Marathon Asia 2019. The competition will be held in Sepang Circuit, Malaysia on April 28 to May 4 2019. This competition will challenge the team to present a fuel-efficient vehicle. There are 150 teams from various countries such as Japan, China, Indonesia and New Zealand.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING UNY IMPROVING STUDENT COMPETENCE THROUGH INDUSTRIAL PRACTICE

Faculty of Engineering UNY held and industrial practice briefing for students from 7 departments. There are Civil Engineering and Planning Department, Electrical Engineering Education Department, Electronics Engineering Education Department, Culinary and Fashion Education Department, Automotive Engineering Education Department and Mechanical Engineering Department. The briefing is set to provide supporting knowledge and technical overview before students getting first-hand experience on the industrial workplace.

SENDING OFF GARUDA UNY TEAM FOR ASIA SHELL ECO MARATHON

Wednesday, March 20, 2019 The Rector of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) officially sent off the Garuda UNY Team to compete in the Asia Regional Shell Eco Marathon competition. This competition will be held on April 29, 2019. Garuda UNY Team will compete with other participants from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia and China. According to Dr. Zainal Arifin, M.T. as the advisor of the Garuda UNY Team, the team preparation was different from the previous year.

BAGAS WON THIRD PLACE IN NATIONAL STOCKLAB COMPETITION

Fadilah Fajar Bagaskara or known as Bagas, an Accounting student of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, won the National Stocklab Competition on March 11, 2019. The competition was held in Islamic University of Indonesia. National Stocklab Competitions was the opening agenda of Islamic Economic Fair under the theme of “Islamic Economic reinforcement in Industrial era 4.0”. There are 40 participant in this competition.

WELCOMING CEREMONY OF CULTURAL VISIT PROGRAM FOR AICHI STUDENTS UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION (UAE)

The Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) received students of Cultural Visit program from Aichi University of Education (AUE). This program begins with the holding of the welcoming ceremony as the official session of acceptance. The Welcoming Ceremony was held in the Sidang Utama Senat room. This activity was held on 12 March 2019.

AIMING MILLENNIALS, UNY WILL HELD “TROMGINE” FASHION SHOW

The uncontrolled flow of imported fashion is inevitably a threat for local designers, especially in the rise of local fashion industry recently supported by several factors; a better quality of product, increasing economy, and the popularity of online retail.

As a consequence, students from both Fashion Design Study Program (S1 and D3) sparked an idea to support local fashion by conducting a fashion show called “TROMGINE”, an abbreviation for The Role of Millennial Generation in Natural/Natural on the next April 11th 2019 at Auditorium of UNY.
