Without technology, we cannot provide good added value. Our basic technology is education because education will be the base to build our future. COMPACT VERSION OF “ORKES MADUN OF ARIFIN C. NOER” PERFORMED BY TEATER TRIYASA

For three consecutive days, Teater Triyasa performed the drama “Orkes Madun” by Arifin C. Noer at UNY Performance Hall started from 24 to 26 april 2019. Unlike common performances that is set as pentalogy, Teater Triyasa has summarized the script without reducing the story essence.

LIBRARY OF UNY BOOSTED E-BOOK AND JOURNAL USE FOR STUDENTS ACADEMIC NEED

The presence of UNY’s Digital Library helps students, especially those in the final year, in finding references to complete the final assignment. But since digital library is offering new media use, this is important to ensure that student will be able to use the new media effectively.  To boost further the use of digital reference, UNY’s Library Unit held an e-book and journal information dissemination on Tuesday, 30 April 2019. The dissemination session had Erik Junikon from Ebsco and Joan from Cambridge as speakers.

FESTIVAL UNY NJATHIL 2019: PRESERVING CULTURE AND BREAKING MURI NATIONAL RECORD

UNY held Festival UNY Njathil as part of 55th UNY anniversary celebration on Thursday, 2 May 2019. Kuswarsantyo, the committee chairman for the festival, said that njatil is substantially can be symbolized as the spirit to totally focus on working, researching, serving the community and other positive effort to develop UNY and Indonesia. Kuswarsantyo, known as Doctor Jathilan, explained that jathilan or kuda kepang or braided horse is a popular dance show in Java.

CULINARY INNOVATION BASED ON CEREAL TO PROMOTE LOCAL FOOD

Indonesia is blessed with abundant local food resources. However, the lack of reference in processing local food makes this potential not optimally utilized. This situation inspired student of culinary education study program to present “Cereal-Based Culinary Innovation to Encourage the Utilization of Local Food” in 2019 Final Culinary Project Exhibition at Auditorium UNY25/5/2019).

UNY FORMED K3 TEAM AND SIGNED DISASTER PREPAREDNESS COMMITMENT

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta held Disaster Preparedness Day commemoration as part of commitment for preparedness, responsiveness in preventing and reducing disaster risk. UNY Leaders and K3 team formally signing a joint commitment followed by a declaration of preparedness on 26 April 2019. The declaration led by Prof. Edi Purwanta, M.Pd as Vice Rector II of UNY. The declaration strictly stress on the importance of UNY  to prevent and reduce disaster risk by always creating  safe, healthy, orderly, clean, cool, friendly and green environment.

CELEBRATING UNY 55TH ANNIVERSARY WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM IN SELOHARJO

UNY Institute of Research and Community Service(IRCS) held pre-social community service on Sunday 28 April 2019. The program conducted  in Seloharjo, Pundong, bantul.  Siswantoyo, Secretary of IRCS UNY, expressed his gratitude to Seloharjo community for supporting the program. Capacity development of Early Childhood Education Teachers and Info Session about disability were completed activities done on 28 April 2019. In addition there is also culinary training in Goa Jepang Seloharjo.

STRENGTHENING THE BOND BETWEEN UNY AND UITM THROUGH INTERNATIONAL VISITING PROFESSOR PROGRAM

UNY aims to boost further international collaboration. One of the efforts is by opening more opportunities for lecturer from UNY and respected partner university to have real research collaboration, sharing session and international lecturer exchange. For this reason, UNY supported Dwi Harsono, Ph.D, lecturer in the Department of Public administration UNY, to participate in visiting professor program. Dwi Harsono, Ph.D is visiting Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malaysia  from 17 April to 3 May 2019. This visit has reciprocal approach because UiTM has sent Prof. Dr.
