IMPROVING SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, STUDENT ASSOCIATION OF GEOGRAPHY EDUCATION ORGANIZED TEACHING PROGRAM

UNY Student Association of Geography Education Study Program teach children at Kalasan Anak Alam (Kalam) every Sunday at 09.00 to 11.00. The activity was attended by students majoring in Geography Education and open to the public. The teaching program actually is an annual work program for Student Association of Geography Education.

Javanese culture widely known for its affiliation with patriarchal system where the roles of political leadership, moral authority, social rights and so on are dominated by men. The application of Javanese Culture is quite established in Yogyakarta Sultan Palace simply because the palace is a main cultural center. ROLE OF PAUD DIKMAS IN REALIZING INDONESIA'S COMPETITIVE AND CHARACTER MAN POWER

"Non-formal Education as a sub-system in Indonesia's national education system has played a dual role both in educating and teaching in the context of educating the nation's life. In fact, non-formal education does not only carry out aspects of teaching. INAUGURATION OF OFFICIALS IN UNY

The Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Sutrisna Wibawa inaugurated and took oaths of a number of officials at UNY on Tuesday (1/10). Among the inaugurated officials is the new Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni Anik Ghufron who will continue the work of Sumaryanto as previous official.

UNY CENTRE FOR PANCASILA AND CONSTITUTION LEARNS FURTHER ABOUT MAINSTREAMING PANCASILA IN PANCASILA IDEOLOGY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

UNY’s Centre for Pancasila and Constitution (PSPK UNY) conducted research on mainstreaming Pancasila as nation ideology in the post amendment of 1945 Indonesia Constitution in Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP). The research was carried out by the Research Team namely Dr. Samsuri, M.Ag, (Team Leader), Dr. M. Murdiono, M.Pd (Member). Drs. Cholisin M.Si (Member) and Galih N Paripurna (Field Researchers).

THE IMPORTANCE OF PICTURE STORY BOOK FOR CHILDREN IN GOLDEN AGES

During the golden age of child development, parents try to stimulate a child with a variety of general knowledge. How to introduce children to the unlimited variety of worlds? The stimulation process must certainly be done in a fun way, one of the option is using a picture story book. Such statement is given by Kordula Schulze from Muenster University, Germany in front of UNY Graduate School students from Primary Education study program and UNY bachelor students from English Literature study Program.

RESEARCH ON SERAWAI LANGUAGE UNDERSTANDING IN SOUTH BENGKULU

Indonesia has rich local languages. Unfortunately, some of local languages have become extinct. Moseley (2010) in “Atlas of The World’s Languages in Danger” mentioned that there are 12 languages in Indonesia that have become extinct. Serawai Language in South Bengkulu is on the extinct list. This has driven the interest from Tara Belinda (Communication), Arif Hidayat (Communication) and Adesta Feby Putri Setiadi (History) with Benni Setiawan, M.Si as supervisor to conduct a research about Serawai Language.

CELEBRATING INDONESIAN RED CROSS ANNIVERSARY WITH BLOOD DONOR EVENT AT UNY

UNY Student Center (SC) received enthusiast volunteer who would donate their blood. This event was organized by UNY Students Activity Unit of Indonesia Red Cross Volunteer Corps (KSR PMI UNY) to celebrate 74th anniversary of Indonesia Red Cross

This event was fully supported by Indonesia Red Cross from Sleman and Yogyakarta Chapter. For those who willing to be a donor, there are several condition should be fulfilled namely physically and mentally healthy, at least 17 years old, not menstruating and taking drugs, and have a minimum body weight of 50kg.

URBAN ETHANOL COMEBACK, GARUDA UNY TEAM WON 2 AWARDS

Saturday (28/9) is the last day in the Energy Saving Car Competition held in Universitas Negeri Malang. Garuda UNY Team (GUT) took part in the Fun Race. For this race, the team participated using Garuda Urban Ethanol.  On the previous day, GUT Urban Ethanol had experienced several technical failures. But in the end, this car has surprised other participants because of its ability to maintain speed as well as to save fuel used. No wonder, UNY Urban Ethanol earn the First Place on Fun Race.
