UNY TOOK HOME THE BRONZE MEDAL IN THE NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF THAILAND (NRCT)

Students team of UNY led by Arif Hidayat (Communication Science) along with the members; Restu Saputra (Physic), M. Farhan Aziz (Electrical Engineering Education), and Muhammad Royan (Mechanical Engineering Education) has proved their effort by being the bronze medalist at the NRCT (National Research Council of Thailand) Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) for the environmental product category. The event was actually to celebrate “Thailand Inventors' Day” held on February, 2nd-6th 2019.

UNY’S FACULTY OF ENGINEERING ENSURING GRADUATES COMPETENCY MEET INDUSTRIAL NEED STANDARDS

Faculty of Engineering has initiated the establishment of the UNY Professional Certification Institute (LSP). It starts from the Faculty of Engineering Competency Test Site (TUK) which is often trusted to hold competency tests by LSP P3, which is a public LSP that can be formed by industry or professional associations. The one formed by UNY is LSP P1 which functions to test the competency of UNY graduates so that they will get a professional certificate issued by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

UNY’S HIGHEST GPA, FASTEST, AND YOUNGEST GRADUATES

The graduation of UNY’s Doctoral, Masters, Bachelor and Diploma for February period was successfully held on February 2019 at GOR UNY. This period, Dwi Novita Sari from Accounting Education, Faculty of Economics, is able to attain an amazing achievement as becoming the highest GPA graduate for Bachelor degree with an outstanding 3.92 GPA. When asked, Dwi Novita Sari shared that she always took the front row in class. “It’s much easier to obtain and maintain the learning materials given by lectures.” said Novi. She loves to study at night and ask lectures questions.

STUDENTS OF ENGINEERING FACULTY TEACH IN MALAYSIA

Engineering Faculty of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta keep their effort in improving their networking and developing their graduate competencies.One of the steps taken by the university was implemented through PPL (students teaching practicum) in Malaysia, this program also aim to support the student’s credit and has been going on since 2012. This program is in line with the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM).

“FIS BASKETBALL” COMMUNITY, PLACE TO EXERCISE AND MAKE FRIENDS

FIS Basketball is the name of a basketball community in Faculty of Social Sciences UNY. The community established in 2012 and initiated by FIS students. One of the members of FIS Basketball, Fika Kurniasari, explained that in the beginning, the community has only few members but it increased in number as time progresses. Both men and women are actively participating in the community.

Indonesia consists of islands that have very high risk for various type of disasters. Natural conditions in the past 10 years have continued to decline due to human factors and from the nature itself. This idea is mentioned by Setyo Eko Atmojo in open dissertation exam under the title “ Model Pembelajaran Kebencanaan berbasis SETS dalam Mitigasi Adaptasi dan Responsibility Siswa Sekolah ”.
