FT UNY Students Internship Program in Japan

Students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education and Automotive Engineering Education Faculty of Engineering Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) were selected for the Japanese automotive component company Internship program at  Yutaka Seisakusho Co., on 10/02/2022. Ten students passed the test from the selection process, and two became reserves. The following process will be a medical checkup before departing on June 1, 2022, and will carry out an internship for approximately one year.

Responding to community needs through the Pejuang Muda Program

Program Pejuang Muda or Young fighter Program is a social laboratory for students to apply their knowledge and knowledge to make a substantial social impact in society. In addition, this program is part of the Merdeka Campus Program under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, and the Ministry of Religion, which every Indonesian student can participate in.

MAPPING THE INTERESTS AND TALENTS OF INDONESIAN SCHOOL (SILN) STUDENTS IN SAUDI ARABIA

UNY held online talent mapping for Jeddah and Makkah Indonesian School students on Thursday, February 3, 2022. In this activity, the UNY psychology team led by Dr. Rita Eka Izzaty, M.Sc. will assess the students of class XVII Jeddah, totaling 40 students and from Makkah as many as 8 students. Also attending this activity, Sutikno, M.Pd., as the principal of SILN Jeddah and the Acting Principal of SILN Makkah.

TEACHERS MUST MASTER THE SUBJECT OF LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY

Teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic requires teachers to adapt to online learning systems and use effective media. The impact of the online learning system that has been running so far certainly affects the psychological condition of students on learning so that alternative strategies for delivering learning materials are needed that are more interesting and meaningful. This problem has caught the attention of UNY lecturers, namely Dr. Dyah Purwaningsih, M.Sc. (Chemistry Education Study Program), Dr. Pujianto, M.Pd. (Physics Education study program) and Anik Widiastuti M.Pd.

WORK-BASED LEARNING IS IMPORTANT FOR CAREER SKILLS

Career skills are essential to face dynamic changes in various work. Career skills consist of curiosity, perseverance, flexibility, optimism, and risk-taking. Therefore, it makes sense to place career skills as an essential aspect that needs to be instilled through learning in vocational education. Furthermore, the physical and mental experience that students get in the form of seeing, feeling, holding, and real-life working experience is a form of Tacit Knowledge that cannot be obtained through ordinary learning.

VIRCON LEARNING SYSTEM TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR STUDENTS TO LEARN

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the government encouraged the implementation of online learning at schools and higher education. Online learning is quite effective in preventing the spread of Covid-19, but this distance learning model is less effective and poorly affects the quality of education. Along with massive vaccination, the government then also encourages limited face-to-face learning. Unfortunately, in some cases, the implementation of face-to-face learning has also led to Covid-19 clusters in several schools.

EDUGRAPH HELPS DYSGRAPHIC CHILDREN WRITE

Dysgraphia is one of the learning difficulties characterized by difficulties in expressing thoughts in writing composition. In general, the term dysgraphia is used to describe abysmal handwriting. Children who have dysgraphia may write very slowly, their writing may be very illegible, and they may make many spelling mistakes because of their inability to mix sounds and letters. Dysgraphia usually occurs when a child first interacts with letters, namely when the child is about six years old, or it can be said when the child is in elementary school.

“At UNY, the monodisciplinary Masters and Doctoral Programs are managed by the faculty. In 2020, all Masters Study programs that are monodiscipline in Mathematics and Natural Sciences will be under the coordination of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences(FMNS) UNY. Furthermore, for the doctoral degree, namely the Chemistry Education Study Program, it is still a Postgraduate program. However, this year it is included in FMNS.

UNY'S MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM RECEIVED SUPERIOR ACCREDITATION FROM BAN-PT

The National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) has officially awarded the superior accreditation category for the UNY Mechatronic Engineering Education Study Program. This accreditation will be valid until June 2026. "This excellent accreditation is a collective result with various parties contributing," said the Dean of FT UNY, Prof. Herman Dwi Surjono, Ph.D.
