CROWD DETECTION USING CCTV MADE BY UNY STUDENTS

The trend of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia has decreased. Nevertheless, the government strives to suppress this pandemic through various policies. Digitally, through the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), the government has used data on the movement of Mobile Subscriber Integrated Services Digital Network Number/MSISDN mobile phones from the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) to detect crowds of residents. Through this data, Kominfo can provide warnings via short messages in SMS blasts when there is a crowd of residents.

GREEN TRANSPORTATION INNOVATION WITH INOBIKE UNY

UNY is committed to supporting the development of green technology. One of the results was the UNY Inobike bike. To ensure Inobike reliability in actual use, on January 7, 2021, the Faculty of Engineering UNY, held a mass trial which 100 participants attended. This activity is carried out on a limited basis while still referring to the Covid-19 prevention protocol. "We will use Inobike to support a green campus in order to reduce carbon gas emissions so that air quality on campus is improved more," said UNY Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr.

THE UKMF MATRIX STUDENT TEAM BOOST MORE PLASTIC WASTE PROCESSING

Household waste is one of the most crucial problems nowadays. In big cities, waste is a significant problem that is still difficult to solve. Based on the type of waste itself, it is divided into two parts: organic waste, which can be decomposed with the help of micro-organisms, and inorganic waste, which cannot be decomposed naturally. The problem of waste in urban areas is an issue that is still considered very important to study about its solution. We need technology to help the community manage waste, especially plastic waste.

IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF THE PATILO AS LOCAL FOOD IN GUNUNGKIDUL

Gunungkidul has the potential of abundant food sources. One of them is cassava which grows well in Tepus, Gunungkidul. Many  Tepus residents process cassava into patilo. But, unfortunately, the production and marketing activities are still on a traditional scale, so they only reach a limited market.

RBM #2 PROGRAM HELPS 500 STUDENTS LEARN IN PANDEMIC TIMES

Even though students have used an online learning system, there are still many students who have difficulty learning. The Student Executive Board of Faculty of Natural Sciences UNY initiated the MIPA Learning Volunteer (RBM) program to answer this problem. This program help elementary to high school students or equivalent who have learning difficulties during the pandemic by providing consultations on assignments or poorly understood materials via Whatsapp. The subjects offered are Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Science, and English.

UNY'S MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM RECEIVED SUPERIOR ACCREDITATION FROM BAN-PT

The National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) has officially awarded the superior accreditation category for the UNY Mechatronic Engineering Education Study Program. This accreditation will be valid until June 2026. "This excellent accreditation is a collective result with various parties contributing," said the Dean of FT UNY, Prof. Herman Dwi Surjono, Ph.D.

THE UNY BUSINESS INCUBATOR ENCOURAGES THE ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE OF UNDERPRIVILEGED FAMILIES

The Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia has launched the Social Entrepreneurship program (Prokus). The UNY Business Incubator actively welcomes government programs by assisting fostered partners. The commitment of the UNY business incubator has received positive recognition from the Ministry of Social Affairs through the election of the KPM PKH Wirausaha administered by the UNY Business Incubator at the 2021 Prokus Product Expo, which will be held from 18 to 21 December 2021.

KSI MIST UNY DEVELOPS CULTURAL TOURISM POTENTIAL IN TAMBAKROMO GUNUNGKIDUL

The UNY MIPA Scientific Study Group (KSI MIST) strengthens the development of village empowerment in Tambakromo Gunungkidul. Through the Village Empowerment Development Program (P3D) scheme, UNY students have carried out a series of programs that will take place from August to November 2021. This activity involves the Tabakromo youth group, housewives, art activists, and cultural assistants.

UNY STUDENTS SUPPORT EDUCATION IN REMOTE AREAS THROUGH CAMPUS TEACHING PROGRAMS

SD Negeri 1 Talang Jawa, Pulau Panggung District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province is one of the schools targeted to implement the Teaching Campus Program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology together with UNY and other partner universities. Alya Nurfita Bella from the Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY, had the opportunity to participate this program.
