SDG 4: Quality Education

A research team from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) recently conducted a comparative literature study between Vietnam and Indonesia in Hanoi, Vietnam, as part of the University's efforts to expand its academic network and strengthen research collaboration across Southeast Asia. The initiative also supports UNY's broader commitment to the internationalization of higher education.

Bangkok, Thailand – Students from the Graduate School (SPs) of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) have once again demonstrated their academic excellence on the international stage by earning prestigious awards at The 5th International Conference on Educational System Management Leadership (ICESML) 2026, held at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, from 29–30 May 2026.

Students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) continue to demonstrate their meaningful contributions to local communities. Since February, students have been deployed to villages, institutions, and community organizations across the region to carry out community service, internships, and research projects. The program provides opportunities for students to innovate while making tangible contributions to society.

Yogyakarta – Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has admitted 2,497 new students through the National Test-Based Selection (Seleksi Nasional Berbasis Tes/SNBT) 2026 admission pathway. The intake comprises 2,272 undergraduate (Bachelor's) students and 225 applied bachelor's (D4) students, selected from 60,063 applicants who chose UNY as their preferred university.

Bantul – Students from the Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Law, and Political Science, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), recently organized a community engagement program titled "Learning Assistance and Digital Literacy for Children" at Sanggar Anak Tumbuh in Bantul. The initiative forms part of a project-based SDGs learning program designed to support Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by strengthening digital literacy among children.

Yogyakarta – Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) continues to strengthen its commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through international academic collaboration. One such initiative was the workshop titled "Global Goals, Local Realities: Rethinking the SDGs in Indonesia," which brought together students from Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia, during their academic visit to UNY.

The Student Association of Sports Science (HIMA IKOR), Faculty of Sport Sciences and Health, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), once again demonstrated its commitment to community service through a program titled “IKOR Mengabdi.” The activity was recently held at the Budi Luhur Social Service Center for the Elderly (BPSTW) in Bantul, targeting senior citizens as the main beneficiaries.

The Eurasia Lecturer Series Episode 10 recently featured Dr. Changzoo Song from Auckland University, New Zealand, who delivered a lecture on Korean culture, gastronomy, and soft power in the digital era.

The Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) Gunungkidul campus hosted Leafestiva 2026 on Tuesday (May 5, 2026), an annual culinary festival themed “One Leaf, Endless Flavors: Leafestiva Full of Creativity.” The event featured a series of activities, including group exercise sessions, seminars, traditional tumpeng tiwul decoration, and exhibitions of food and beverage products.
