YSU HOSTS INFORMATION SESSION OF NIC 2016 WITH BIC

As part of an international event Tangerang Global Innovation Forum (TGIF) 2016, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education and the city government of Tangerang Selatan host National Innovation Competition (NIC) 2016, organized by Business Innovation Centre (BIC). As an attempt to disseminate the information regarding the competition, BIC in collaboration with Yogyakarta State University (YSU) held Presentation and Information Session of NIC 2016 on Monday (21/3/2016).

POLICY OF NATION AND CHARACTER BUILDING: COMPARING INDONESIA-MALAYSIA

Prof. Madya dato, Dr. Abdul Razaq Ahmad (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) were to give keynote speech in the studium generale organized by Educational Policy study program, the Department of Philosophical Sociology Education with the theme of `Policy of Nation and Character Building: Comparing Indonesia-Malaysia`. The agenda attracted 159 participants at the Abdullah Sigit room, FE YSU (10/3). The Dean of Faculty of Education YSU, Dr. Haryanto, M.Pd. urged the participants of this studium generale to gain knowledge on the education in Indonesia and Malaysia.

TWO YSU STUDENTS GRAB GOLD MEDALS IN CAIRO, EGYPT

The students of YSU who joined the team of YSU Students’ Activity Unit of Research, Rifaldy Fajar (Mathematics Dept 2014), and Rini Winarti (Biology Education Dept 2014) recently achieved two gold medals at the event of The Egyptian International Invention and Innovation Exhibition (EGYPTINVENT) 2016 in Cairo, Egypt, taking place on 8 – 10 March in El Gezirah Youth Center.

“KANG SEMAR” OF YSU STUDENTS AWARDED THE 2nd RUNNER UP IN FILM

Three students of Chemistry Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMNS) namely Shinta Pramudyasiwi, Asti Dian Arini and Fitri Handayani were announced the 2nd runner up for National Scientific Writing Competition, as part of Student Scientific Festival (Festival Ilmiah Mahasiswa/FILM) 2016 held by Student Scientific Study, Sebelas Maret University, from 4 to 6 March, 2016.

ELECTRIC PEDICAB BY THE STUDENTS OF FE YSU

Students class of 2013 of Mechanical Engineering Education of the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (FE YSU) created electric pedicab named `Simple Electric Tricycle` (7/03). They are Yondi Akirudin, Risna Sari Dewi, Dwi Hari Purnomo, Aris Sulistyo, Wisnu Pamungkas, and Rio Rizki Khanigia. They constructed this work under the guidance of Dr. Eng. Didik Nurhadiyanto, M.T., Febrianto Amri Ristiadi, M.Eng.Sc., and Prof. Thomas Sukardi, M.Pd. This electric tricycle uses an electric motor that can go up to 40 km / h.

STUDY OPPORTUNITY IN AICHI UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, JAPAN

On Monday (7/3/2016), housed in Abdullah Sigit, Faculty of Education, Yogyakarta State University (YSU), an information session on study in Aichi University of Education (AUE) Japan was held. The agenda was designed to promote the study in AUE Japan. Representing AUE were Prof. Kazuhiro Doki, Yoshitaka Kozuka, and Kenji Iwamitsu. Prof. Kazuhiro Doki as the Deputy Director for International Exchange also allowed question-answer session for the attendees. Over 90 students of varying departments in YSU joined the event.

AICHI UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION OFFERS NUMEROUS JOINT PROGRAMS

Yogyakarta State University extended warm welcome to three delegates of Aichi University of Education (AUE), Japan (7/3/2016) namely Kazuhiro Doki, Yoshitaka Kozuka, and Kenji Iwamitsu. The delegates were accepted by Prof. Suwarsih Madya as Vice Rector IV YSU, Herman, M.Pd as the Director of Public Relations, Dr. Haryanto as the Dean of Faculty of Education, Dr.Ing Satoto E Nayono as the Director of the Office of International Affairs and Partnerships, and several invited lecturers and representatives from faculties.

ANTIOXIDANT-RICH CHOCOLATE FROM CALABUR LEAVES

Chocolate is one of the most desirable types of snack. Ranging from children to adults, everyone likes chocolate. In general, chocolate is marketed in the form of bars, granules, or powder. Chocolate is now being sold at various mixtures, but most chocolates only offer a sweet taste; even more, they are often accused as the cause of obesity. The plant Muntingia Calabura L.. or calabur tree has leaves that contain a lot of anti-oxidants and other benefits, but the utilization is still very rare. Though this plant is easily encountered in Indonesia, it only functions as shade.

RIFALDY FAJAR REPRESENTS EL SALVADOR IN UN SIMULATION

Yogyakarta State University (YSU) always provides facilities for its student to develop their talent and interest in all fields. This is evidenced by the wide range of student activity units in the campus, one of which is Student Activity Unit in Research. One of the members, Rifaldy Fajar (Mathematics Department 2014) was recently back home after having a ‘battle’ in the competition of Nanyang Technological University-Model of United Nation (NTU-MUN) in Singapore (19-21/2). The Model of United Nations (MUN) is a simulation forum of the UN by a variety of institutions in the world.
