GENERAL LECTURE BY PAULO CANAS RODRIGUES

Paulo Canas Rodrigues of the Centre for Applied Statistics and Data Analytics, University of Tampere, Finland who also taught in the Department of Statistics, Federal University of Bahia, Brazil gave a general lecture to students of Mathematics Study Program, FMS YSU, Friday, 11/11. On the occasion, Paulo delivered material on The Role of Statistics in Big Data.

VISITING PROFESSOR AT BURAPHA UNIVERSITY

One of YSU’s lecturer, Prof. Djemari Madapi, Ph.D. became a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Education Burapha University in Thailand some time ago. The Head of Research and Education Evaluation Study program (PEP) Program Graduate School YSU gave materials in the framework of a public lecture foe the students and lecturers of Burapha University with the theme of Evaluation in Educational Quality Assurance.

YSU INTERNATIONAL CULTURE CAMP 2016

A total of 65 international students of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) seemed enthusiastic to follow the agenda Culture Camp 2016 organized by the Office of International Affairs and Partnerships. They come from various countries, such as South Korea, India, China, Thailand, Cambodia and Uganda. Culture Camp 2016 was held in the village Wanurejo, Borobudur, Magelang (11-12 / 11). The main purpose of the holding of an annual agenda is to strengthen brotherhood among international students as well as invite them closer to the culture of Indonesia.

STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE YSU JOINED SIT IN CLASS AT THE KASETSART UNIVERSITY THAILAND

Students of the Faculty of Social Science, Yogyakarta State University (UNY FIS) followed the International Student Program Development Project or Sit at Kasetsart University in Thailand. The activity aims to provide an opportunity for FIS UNY students to gain knowledge about the academic culture, lectures, student activities at Kasetsart University of Thailand (29 / 10-13 / 11).

YSU’S LECTURER PRESENTED BLENDED LEARNING PAPER IN LONDON

The development in information technology has provided convenient access of science and the expansion of education through online learning. Meanwhile, face-to-face learning cannot be abandoned because of the needs of motor competence and the strengthening of character education. Blended Learning (BL) is an amalgamation of the best aspects of online learning and face-to-face learning.

YSU’S STUDENTS WON THE BEST CATEGORY IN THE NATIONAL ACCOUNTING STUDENT CONFERENCE

Three students of Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics (FE) YSU, namely Tegar Galang Anantha (2014), Zahra Tiara Rusyda (2014), and Cahita Widasari (2014) won the Best Category in the category of Financial Accounting in the National Accounting Student Conference (NASC), (28-29 / 10) at Sanata Dharma University in Yogyakarta. The team is guided by Patriani Wahyu Dewanti, M.Acc, lecturer of Accounting Study Program FE YSU.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING YSU WON THE FIRST PLACE AT THE WORLD COSTUME FESTIVAL 2016 IN THE PHILLIPINES

Carnival Team of the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University was ordained champion of the World Costume Festival in the Philippines after winning first prize in two categories of competition i.e. Booth Competition and Costume Design Competition (20-26 / 10) in the Philippines.

THE 25TH INTERNASIONAL CONFERENCE ON LITERATURE

Faculty of Languages and Arts (FLA) YSU again held an international event on 13-14 October 2016. This time the prestigious event is called the International Conference on Literature (ICOLITE) 25. The issues raised at the event this time were environmental issues, with the headline "of Literature for the Earth." This event was held in cooperation between the Association of Graduate-Indonesian Literature (HISKI) and FLA was held for three days; two days of conference activities and one day for ecotourism in the cave Pindul.

YSU AND SEAMEO HELD AN EVALUATION MEETING ON THE ASEAN PRE-SERVICE TEACHER EXCHANGE

YSU hosted the 2nd Evaluation Meeting: Pre Service Teacher Student Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA-Teacher) activity at UNY Hotel (8/10), which was attended by about 80 participants representing universities in ASEAN. This program was initiated by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) as multilateral activities between the participating countries to implement student exchange activities to implement teaching practices. SEAMEO is an international organization designed to promote cooperation in education, science and culture in Southeast Asia.

FACULTY OF EDUCATION STUDENT EXCHANGE TO AICHI UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, JAPAN

Aichi University of Education, Japan, is one of the partners conjoined by the Yogyakarta State University. The program of cooperation explored by both parties is the Student Exchange program with the program named Aichi University of Education (AUE) Student Exchange Program, where every year there is always a student of YSU who attended the program for a period of 6 to 12 months.
