GROUND BREAKING EVENT OF YSU’S IDB BUILDING

Indonesia is always full of its youths’ masterpieces. One of them was Rosemery. Rosemery were dancing robots which were created by Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta’s students. These robots got the first winner in the Indonesia Dancing Robot Contest (Kontes Robot Seni Tari Indonesia) which was held on 8 – 9 July 2017 in Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. This contest was an annually prestigious competition held by The Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of Republic of Indonesia. This year, there were 93 robots coming from various universities in Indonesia to compete.
Along with global developments and dynamics, universities must keep on compete dan develop the qualities of education, research, teacher resources, and so on to produce graduates and research results that are useful and recognized by community. Therefore, under the leadership of the current rector, Prof. Dr.
Information Technology Team of division 2 Technology Engineering UKM (Student Activity Units), State University of Yogyakarta (YSU) successfully won two gold medals in the International Invention and Innovative Competition (InIIC) organized by State Library of Malaysia in cooperation with University of Malaya and MNNF.
The event was held on 6-7 May 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For this event, UNY flew 2 teams to compete.
Faculty Of Mathematics And Natural Sciences of Yogyakarta State University organized the 4th International Conference on Research, Implementation and Education of Mathematics and Science (4th ICRIEMS) on Monday-Tuesday (15-16/5) at the auditorium of YSU and was opened by Vice Rector I, Dr. Margana. Also present Vice Rector IV, Dr. rer.nat Senam, and lecturers’ delegation from partner university, such as Univesiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia, Yala Rajabhat University, etc.
The fierce competition that lasted for two days (19-20/05) resulted in an incredible outcome for Garuda YSU Team (GUT). The team led by Teguh Arifin succeeded achieving two awards: Best of the Best Hybrid Car Category and Best Teamwork in International Student Car Competition 2017 (ISCC).
The Rector of Yogyakarta State University, Prof. Dr. Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd. inaugurated and swore in the officials at YSU (2/5),one of them was the Vice Rector I who previously served by Wardan Suyanto, MA., Ed.D and now was replaced by Dr. Margana, M.Hum., MA. In his speech, the Rector of YSU said that this mandatory inauguration was due to the acceleration and refresh program in YSU. "This activity is part of the management routine that includes replacement" said Sutrisna Wibawa.
Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Drs. H. Muhammad Nasir, M.Si, Ak, Ph.D, CA officially inaugurated Prof. Dr. Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd as the Rector Yogyakarta State University from 2017 to 2021. Inauguration ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 23, 2017 at 13:30 pm in the Auditorium Building, 2nd Floor, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Sudirman Street, Senayan, Jakarta.
