LEARNING TO PREVENT DISASTER WITH PROF. KIYOKO MAJIMA JAPAN

Faculty of Social Sciences Yogyakarta State University (FIS UNY) held Stadium General with the theme "Disaster Prevention Education" on Thursday (15/2). The event that took place in the Big Room of the second floor of LPPM UNY Building presented Prof. Kiyoko Majima from Aichi University of Education Japan as a speaker. Hundreds of participants consisting of students of IPS Education Department, Geography Education and State Administration Science and lecturer of FIS UNY attended the stadium general event which was guided directly by Utami Dewi, M.PP.

UNY LAUNCH ITS DIGITAL LIBRARY

The digital age is hard to predict, where people can relate without dealing with time and place. Includes a digital library that is disruption today. The library does not seem tohave a book when the number of collections quite a lot even if not visible. The digital era utilizes facilities from around the world, and everyone can connect virtually. This was stated by General Director Belmawa Kemenristekdikti, Intan Ahmad in soft launching digital library and e-learning UNY, Thursday (8/3). It is said that now international seminar can be done digitally using video conference network.

UNY JOIN SHELL ECO-MARATHON IN SINGAPORE

Eco-Marathon is an annual competition sponsored by Shell, where participants create a special vehicle that can perform as efficient fuel efficiency as possible. The Eco-Marathon is held around the world and has been held in Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, the United States and Malaysia. The competition was participated by various participants ranging from amateurs to college teams and motor vehicle companies with various designs. Year 2018 Eco-Marathon held in Singapore on 7-11 March.

USING REOSQUIDO, UNY GRABBED 3 AWARDS IN IPITEX 2018 BANGKOK, THAILAND

The availability of uneven and inexpensive water supply equipment, geographical location, access limitations, rising human population growth, and pollution of clean water sources, have an impact on the health and availability of clean water. This condition is the background of a number of students from Yogyakarta State University to create an innovative water purifier to overcome the problem of the availability of clean water is very limited. This innovation tool called REOSQUIDO.

STUDENTS OF YALA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY DOING CREDIT TRANSFER AT FMIPA UNIVERSITAS NEGERI YOGYAKARTA.

A total of 10 students from Yala Rajabhat University (YRU) followed the credit transfer program from January to June 2018 at FMIPA UNY. The students were enrolled in Biology 7 students and 3 chemistry professors. The reception was held on Friday (2/1/18) in the faculty siding room attended by the Deans, Vice Deans I, Head of Dept and the Head of the Study Program of Chemistry and Biology.

MOU SIGNING BETWEEN UNY WITH UNIVERSITY OF GDANSK POLAND

As part of the development step towards World Class University, Yogyakarta State University continues to work together with universities / related institutions, major from abroad. Referring to the commitment, Yogyakarta State University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with one of the Polish universities, University of Gdansk - at the Main Senate Meeting Room on Wednesday (31/01/2018). The University of Gdansk (UG) is one of the top universities in Poland with an EECA ranking of 83 in 2017.

ANDROID APPLICATION FOR PREDICTING MERAPI ERUPTION ACHIEVING GOLD MEDAL IN FOSHAN, CHINA

UNY students successfully create applications that can run on mobile devices, and provide parameters for air temperature against volcanic eruptions before the disaster disaster. Periodic air temperature measurements through this application can improve community preparedness in daily activities on the slopes of volcanoes, researchers in conducting research on volcanoes, and the government in determining the right time for rapid evacuation.

PRINCE OF SONGKLA UNIVERSITY THAILAND, STUDY CURRICULUM AT FE UNY

Friday (19/1), Faculty of Education (FIP) received a guest arrival from Prince of Songkla University of Thailand. During the visit, Prince of Songkla University sent two delegates from the Faculty of Education, Associate Professor. Theeraphong Kaenin and Associate Professor Chidehanok Churngchow. The arrival of the delegation is to discuss and study related teacher education especially in terms of curriculum, teaching, and evaluation.
