Bantul – Students participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) recently carried out a community engagement project at Abdul 'Alim Orphanage in Imogiri, Bantul. The orphanage was selected as the program site because the children's age range and educational needs aligned closely with the academic backgrounds of the PLK team members, enabling them to apply their knowledge in meaningful community service.

Klaten – Students participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) recently launched a community-based organic waste management initiative through the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae, commonly known as maggots, in Pandan Hamlet, Somopuro Village, Jogonalan District, Klaten Regency, Central Java. The initiative, titled Eco Point, was developed to address the longstanding challenge of household organic waste management within the local community.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) recently welcomed an academic delegation from Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia, consisting of five exchange students and two accompanying faculty members. Facilitated by the UNY International Office, the visit formed part of the University's ongoing efforts to strengthen international collaboration in education and cultural exchange.

Hanoi, Vietnam – Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) continues to expand its international presence as part of its journey toward becoming a World-Class University (WCU) while contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through academic and cultural collaboration. Beyond hosting international scholars, UNY actively engages with partner universities overseas to promote Indonesian education and culture.

Bantul – Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability by participating in a series of coastal conservation activities, including sea turtle hatchling (tukik) release, beach clean-up, and mangrove planting, held on 4 June 2026 at Pelangi Beach and Baros Beach, Bantul. The activities formed part of the University's international conference program and served as an opportunity to strengthen environmental awareness among members of the academic community.

Bantul – Students participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) organized a cybercrime awareness program in collaboration with the Bambanglipuro Sector Police (Polsek Bambanglipuro) to educate the public about various forms of cybercrime, as well as effective strategies for prevention and response.

A research team from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) recently conducted a comparative literature study between Vietnam and Indonesia in Hanoi, Vietnam, as part of the University's efforts to expand its academic network and strengthen research collaboration across Southeast Asia. The initiative also supports UNY's broader commitment to the internationalization of higher education.

Bangkok, Thailand – Students from the Graduate School (SPs) of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) have once again demonstrated their academic excellence on the international stage by earning prestigious awards at The 5th International Conference on Educational System Management Leadership (ICESML) 2026, held at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, from 29–30 May 2026.

Students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) continue to demonstrate their meaningful contributions to local communities. Since February, students have been deployed to villages, institutions, and community organizations across the region to carry out community service, internships, and research projects. The program provides opportunities for students to innovate while making tangible contributions to society.
