Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UNY, Prof. Herman Dwi Surjono, Ph.D., on the sidelines of his cooperation visit to universities in the Philippines, said that establishing cooperation with foreign universities is very important. UNY actively supports various efforts to cultivate the community both for achievement purposes and to support a healthy lifestyle. Through various sports facilities on the UNY Campus, many general public and professional athletes have exercised and competed. UNY-NYP-UITM collaboration to enhance doctoral students' understanding of the latest educational trends and research methodologies

Eight doctoral students of Technology and Vocational Education of UNY had the opportunity to attend the General Lecture at Nanyang Polytechnic Singapore and the Research Methodology Colloquium at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. Through these activities, students learned about the latest trends in education and research methodology.

Collaboration between UNY EngineerTech Team and Pertamina to Create a Hybrid Powered Water Hyacinth Dryer

The EngineerTech UNY team had the opportunity to collaborate and obtain research funding from PT Pertamina Patra Niaga TBBM Cikampek. The collaboration and research funding program focuses on the manufacturing and utilization of a hybrid-powered Water Hyacinth Dryer for community empowerment in the Walahar village area, Karawang Regency, West Java Province.

Improving the ability to develop Instructional Design for Science Teachers in Sleman Regency

21st-century education encourages students to master valuable skills for being more responsive to change. Teachers, as facilitators, must stay updated with the times. Supporting this, a team of lecturers from the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta organized a Context-based Instructional Design Workshop which was attended by 30 representatives of science teachers in the Sleman Regency Science Teacher Consultation (MGMP) forum on Saturday (29/7/2023) at SMP Negeri 1 Kalasan.

Building Cooperation between UNY, UDN and IPB

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta has established partnerships with Universitas Doktor Nugroho (UDN) Magetan, East Java, and Instituto Politecnico De Betano (IPB) Timor Leste, signed on Monday (17/7) at the Rectorate of UNY. The memorandum of understanding was signed by UNY Rector Prof. Sumaryanto, UDN Rector Dr. Marsini and IPB President Prof. Assoc. Adj. Acacio Cardosol Amaral.

Closing of BIPA Credit Transfer Program at UNY

A total of 35 Chinese students have completed the Indonesian for Speakers of Other Languages (BIPA) Credit Transfer Program at the Faculty of Language, Arts and Culture, Universitas Negeri  Yogyakarta. The students came from three universities: Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Xi'an International University and Yunnan Minzu University. The program lasted for one semester, from March to July 2023. Therefore, a closing ceremony was held recently to mark the end of the program.

Improving publicity and positive image of programs on campus

In 2022 UNY won 11 awards in the Ristekdikti Award in the Public Service Agency cluster. This year, the competition is even tougher because UNY is included in the Legal Entity State Universities cluster. The benefits of this award are introducing institutions, programs, and products of State Universities, Private Universities, partners, journalists and media, and other stakeholders.

UNY students participate in international student mobility in Hungary, Ireland, and the Netherlands

Three Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNY students can participate in the international student mobility program for one semester. Mediana Ramadhani (Biology study program) was accepted at the University of Szeged, Hungary; B Narayani (Chemistry study program) to the University of Galway, Ireland, and Dayu Arinda (Chemistry study program) will study at Maastricht University Netherlands.

Improving the Quality of Mathematics Learning Using Geogebra

One way to improve the quality of math learning is by using technology. As a free, dynamic, and interactive mathematics application program, GeoGebra can support mathematics learning in schools. "GeoGebra was developed by Markus Hohenwarter in 2001. According to Hohenwarter and Fuchs, GeoGebra is very useful as a medium for learning mathematics," said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hutkemri Zulnaidi from the Department of Mathematics and Science, Universiti Malaya.
