UNY Hosted Physical Trainer Training For Beginners

UNY's Sports Coaching Education Department held a Beginner's Physical Trainer Training on August 23-25, 2022. A total of 30 sports teachers from elementary and junior high schools in Yogyakarta participated in this training. This training is a collaboration between the Department of Sports Coaching Education of UNY and the Yogyakarta City Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM).

Increasing Awareness of Reproductive Health for the People of Keputran Village

Having good reproductive health is a fundamental right of every person. Therefore, various dissemination efforts need to be encouraged. This reason is the basis for the Research Group Team (RG) of UNY lecturers to carry out community service in Keputran village, Klaten, on 26 June 2022. The team chose Keputran village because this village is one of the villages with a high target of family planning acceptors with the number of couples of childbearing age which is quite a lot.

Playing Table Tennis Casually and Win

The Men's Table Tennis and Women's Badminton Team of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA)UNY won 1st place in the competition held to celebrate the 58th Anniversary of UNY, which was held on Friday 13 May 2022 at the Rectorate Hall of UNY. In the final match, the FMIPA team managed to beat a strong team from FIK UNY with 4-0. In the final match, 4 pairs from both teams immediately played simultaneously, and all of them were won by the FMIPA team. Before the final, the FMIPA team also won Group A, which consisted of FIP, Postgraduate, FT, and FBS teams.

Celebrating 58th UNY Anniversary with tree planting

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta welcomed its 58th anniversary by planting three trees. The trees planted are the tanjung  tree (Mimusops elengi), mango tree (Mangifera indica), and tamarind tree (Tamarindus indica). Improving the Quality of Health through General Check-Ups and Blood Donation

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the population of Yogyakarta has the highest life expectancy in Indonesia, namely 75.08 years in 2021. This achievement is proof that the quality of health in Yogyakarta is quite good. However, that does not mean that efforts to prevent various health problems in elders are not necessary. For example, UNY held a general medical check-up for lecturers aged 60-65 years and staff aged 53-58 on 11 May 2022 at the LPPM building. This activity is a collaboration between UNY and Parahita Diagnostic Laboratory.

Sports or physical exercise is an integral part of efforts to improve health and fitness status. A person with low physical activity has a higher risk of various health problems. In addition to playing a role in promotive and preventive efforts, exercise is also crucial in therapy and rehabilitation programs for multiple types of health disorders. The planned and structured exercise involves repetitive body movements to improve physical fitness.

Learning to Prevent and Treat Diabetes without Drugs

Based on data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) that in 2021 around 19.46 million people in Indonesia had diabetes. The data is a clear reminder of how much we need to raise awareness about the dangers and solutions to diabetes. Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), through a National Seminar with the theme "Health Education towards Healthy UNY and Alumni without Medicine Free From Diabetes," tries to answer this question. This seminar was held both offline and online on April 9, 2022. Around 1040 participants participated online.
