UNY Students Introduce the Benefits of Aloe Vera Plants for Health

The aloe vera plant is well-known as a plant that is useful for skin and hair health. However, a team of UNY students from the vocational faculty of UNY succeeded in developing other benefits of aloe vera as a healthy drink and food for the community.

This innovative product originated from community service activities in Domban Village, Sleman. The UNY student team and KWT Ngundi Rahayu Domban succeeded in developing candied drinks and cendol.

Improving Children's Intelligence and Literacy Skills by reading aloud

"The fact is that learning to read is a complex process and does not happen by itself. Learning to read needs planning, teaching parts of reading skills," said Nuradi Indrawijaya, S.Pd, Head of the Yogyakarta Reading Interest Community Movement at Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) or Community Reading Corner  Nawasena Ngluwar, Magelang on September 25, 2023.

Nurturing Pulesari as a sustainable socio-cultural tourism destination

"Environmental preservation supported by local social and cultural values can create a sustainable ecosystem," said Edi Widodo, M.Pd, in a workshop entitled "Rawat Bumi Dusun Pulesari" on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. This message becomes very important as more and more villages are promoted as nature and cultural tourism villages. Tourism village management that does not consider natural sustainability has become an essential issue in the decline of village-based tourism.

Processing waste cooking oil into aromatherapy candles

Residents of Pinggir Village, Bantul Regency, received training on processing waste cooking oil into aromatherapy candles from a group of UNY students. The group consists of Muhammad Raffi Argifari, Sony Ardiansyah Yekti Wibowo, Media Binar Yedeya, Ja'far Yanuar Sugrindo As Salafi, Syifa Kamila Khairunnisa, Rhiski Husniati, Najla Nashirah, Rahma Chairunissa, Restu Maisaroh and Ratih Kumalasari Sujono.

BIONIC UNY pioneers Eco-Edu Forest in Purwoharjo

The Bionic team of UNY students pioneered the development of Purwoharjo as an Eco-Edu Forest. "Through this activity, we want to contribute to the community in order to build an active, independent, and prosperous fostered area. On the other hand, the community is expected to be able to find and develop existing potential to be managed into real activities or develop activities that have been initiated to be more developed and useful," said David as team leader.

The spirit of spreading benefits to others

"I am excited to be active as a student because I have a strong desire to continue to spread benefits to others. The knowledge I learn on campus is a gift from Allah SWT that I must share with anyone in need," said Taufik Hidayat, one of UNY's undergraduate graduates who successfully graduated with a GPA of 3.96.

UNY student team consisting of Hilman Akbar Al-Hayat (Communication Science), Rangga Prayuda Artaningtyas (Electrical Engineering), Ica Soffia (History Science), Muhammad Bahruddin (Physics), Tunjung Sekar Pembayun (Management), Nurul Tiyas Septiani (Management), Stephani Mayang Puspitasari (Management), Bagas Adi Pamungkas (Communication Science) and Salsabila Nisrina Nurhani (English Literature) succeeded in providing a new experience in celebrating Indonesia Independence Day in Ketandan, Bantul.

Collaboration between UNY EngineerTech Team and Pertamina to Create a Hybrid Powered Water Hyacinth Dryer

The EngineerTech UNY team had the opportunity to collaborate and obtain research funding from PT Pertamina Patra Niaga TBBM Cikampek. The collaboration and research funding program focuses on the manufacturing and utilization of a hybrid-powered Water Hyacinth Dryer for community empowerment in the Walahar village area, Karawang Regency, West Java Province.
