UNY PLK Students Introduce Automatic Street Lighting System to Promote an Energy-Efficient Hamlet in Karangasem

Students of the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), who are carrying out community service activities in Karangasem Hamlet, initiated the installation of Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) timers for street lighting in every neighborhood unit (RT). The program was implemented as an effort to improve electricity efficiency while simplifying the management of street lighting for the local community.

When Music No Longer Depends on Hearing: UNY Lecturer Explores the Musicality of the Deaf Community

The perception that deaf individuals cannot enjoy or perform music is still commonly found in society. The assumption that music can only be accessed through hearing has long become a stigma that limits the expressive space of the deaf community. Through her latest academic work, Dr. Drijastuti Jogjaningrum, M.A., a lecturer in the Music Education Study Program at the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture (FBSB), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), seeks to challenge this perception through her book entitled Exploring the Wonders of Deaf Musicality.

UNY Holds Successful Blood Donation Drive for 62nd Anniversary Celebration

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) successfully organized a blood donation drive as part of the series of events commemorating its 62nd Anniversary. Organized by the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of UNY, the event was conducted in collaboration with Dr. Sardjito General Hospital.

Thousands of members of the Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) academic community gathered across the campus area this morning to participate in the Fun and Healthy Walk held in celebration of the university’s 62nd Anniversary. The event was officially opened by the Rector of UNY through a symbolic flag-off ceremony in front of the Rectorate Building.
