Encouraging the Improvement of the Quality of Education through the Accreditation of the UNY Teacher Profession Program

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta(UNY) welcomed Assessors from BAN-PT to conduct a Field Assessment for the Accreditation of the Teacher Profession Program (PPG) offline and online on August 1, 2022. The assessors who carried out the accreditation were Prof. Arita Marini from Universitas Negeri Jakarta and Prof. Anam Sutopo from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta(UNY) received an online and offline visit from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) on July 29, 2022. Swara Wadhana UNY Won the Grand Prix Champion 11th Bali International Choir Festival 2022

Swara Wadhana Student Choir of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY)won the title of Grand Prix Champion in the 11th Bali International Choir Festival competition. This international-level choir competition takes place from 25-28 July 2022 onsite in Bali, Indonesia, with the implementation of strict health protocols. The Bali International Choir Festival is a choral competition organized by the Bandung Choral Society with the support of many conductors, teachers, and coaches.

E-Science: Open, Social, and Virtual Technologies for Research Collaboration with Prof. Thomas Kohler

"E-science is a socio-technical system, which can be approached from the perspective of a human, task or technology user, as identified by Heinrich. It aims to identify the dominant approach to e-science, to distinguish between different terms and identify how the terms reflect changes in existing research flows," said Prof. Dr. Thomas Kohler from Technicshe Universitat Dresden, Germany, in a public lecture themed “e-Science: Open, Social, and Virtual Technology for Research Collaboration” on July 19, 2022. This activity succeeded in attracting 75 participants both offline and online.

Sandiana Uno Appreciates Corncob Waste Crafts by UNY Students

Corn (Zea Mays L) is a plantation crop that thrives in Indonesia and can be harvested 2-3 times a year. The corn harvest period is the most awaited because farmers benefit from their crops. However, most of the corn is sold a whole. The corn cobs are only burned and even thrown away as waste. The problem is that corncob waste is easily decomposed and causes an unpleasant odor. This problem has prompted Ade Kurniawan, a student of craft education at UNY, to process corncob waste into handicraft products that are sustainable, eco-friendly, and encourage zero waste implementation.

UNY Students' Achievements in National Woodball Championship for Higher Education

Woodball entered Indonesia in 2002, and on 2006 the Indonesia Woodball Association (IWBA) was born. Woodball has similarities with golf. In terms of equipment, Woodball uses balls, mallets, and gates, which are all made of wood. Historically, golf clubs are made of wood. But nowadays, most golfers use golf clubs made of steel, titanium, and other metals or carbon fiber. In terms of gameplay, if golf puts the ball in the hole, then woodball puts the ball into the gate.

Improving Fire Safety Awareness with the Indonesian Fire Safety Professional Society (MPK2I)

Based on data from the Directorate General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, in Indonesia, there have been around 17,768 fire cases throughout 2021. In particular, short circuits of electricity caused 5,274 fire cases. With so many fire cases, various efforts to prevent and deal with fire cases are essential.
