REDUCING GADGETS ADDICTION THROUGH TRADITIONAL GAMES

The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed children to gadgets such as computers, laptops, and cellphones more intensely due to distance learning. Gadgets for learning are also followed by the increasing use of gadgets for social media and online games that trigger gadget addiction. To reduce this problem, UNY students consisting of Dwi Agnes Setianingrum, Dian Anggraini and Akhip Nugroho (science education), Furi Ningsih Sri Sukowati (physics education), and Aerafatma Ahyaun Nisa (elementary school teacher education) initiated the development of a traditional game.

A HEALTHY DIET WITH UNYBAR

Many people are trying to have an ideal weight through exercise and diet. Unfortunately, this effort is not always easy because it is challenging to avoid snacking. For this reason, UNY has developed a healthy snack, namely UNYBar. "Available in milk, chocolate, banana, strawberry, vanilla, and grape flavors," said Prof. Siswantoyo. This product is one of the works of the Center of excellence for science and technology and innovation.

ANTI-THEFT WALLET INNOVATION MADE FROM BANANA MIDRIB WASTE

UNY students made a wallet with a security system that will inform the owner when the wallet is more than 10 meters apart from its owner. Uniquely, the wallet is made of banana midrib fiber, given a Javanese letter pattern. They are Asni Muslimah (Clothing Engineering Education), Annisa Nurfatimah Febrianti (Accounting Education), Annisa Alimah Ufairoh (Physical Education), Latifah Nur Khasanah (Chemical Education), and Atiqotul Maula Al Farihah (Sociological Education). According to Asni Muslimah, they made the smart wallet because many people still use conventional wallets.

PRELIMINARY MEETING ACADEMIC COOPERATION PILOT BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF FINE ARTS EDUCATION OF UNY, AND YUNTECH UNIVERSITY TAIWAN

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta continues to add to its cooperation network at the national and global levels. The Department of Fine Arts Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, on 13/01/2022, held an online Preliminary Meeting with the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (Yuntech). Yuntech has five colleges, the College of Engineering, College of Management, College of Design, College of Humanities and Applied Sciences, and College of Future. The Department of Fine Arts Education at UNY will collaborate with the Yuntech Visual Communication Design Department.

UNY WON THREE AWARDS AT THE 2021 DIKTIRISTEK AWARD

UNY won as the 1st Rank of  Management of Higher Education Cooperation Data for Public Service Agency, the second rank of  Management of Cooperation and Facilitation of Higher Education Cooperation Report for Public Service Agency, and first expectation rating of  Integrated Service Unit for Higher Education Public Service Agency in the 2021 Diktiristek Award which was held offline and online. The award was received by the Rector of UNY, Prof. Sumaryanto, in Jakarta, Thursday (13/1).

CROWD DETECTION USING CCTV MADE BY UNY STUDENTS

The trend of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia has decreased. Nevertheless, the government strives to suppress this pandemic through various policies. Digitally, through the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), the government has used data on the movement of Mobile Subscriber Integrated Services Digital Network Number/MSISDN mobile phones from the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) to detect crowds of residents. Through this data, Kominfo can provide warnings via short messages in SMS blasts when there is a crowd of residents.

UNY STUDENTS DEVELOP SPORT TOURISM IN KLATEN

Sport tourism is still not much developed in Indonesia. However, several sport tourism activities in Indonesia include the Sport Marathon, Jakarta Marathon, and the International Tour de Banyuwangi Ijen (ItdBI) bicycle race in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java.  This matter has set the Koskma Research Unit of the Faculty of Sports Science UNY to initiate sports tourism in Gunung Gajah Village, Bayat, Klaten through the Holistic Program for Village Development and Empowerment (PHP2D).
