UMY EXTENDS SPORTS FACILITY COOPERATION WITH UNY

After three years running, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta(UMY) extended its partnership with the Faculty of Sport Sciences UNY in terms of Sports Facilities use. According to dr. Maria Ulfa, Ph.D., Head of the Domestic Cooperation Division, said that improving the quality of sports resources. Sport is a vital necessity today, especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The Head of the Domestic Special Cooperation Division, who came with 2 of his staff, was warmly welcomed by FIK UNY on Monday (17/1/2022) at the Leadership Meeting Room of the 2nd Floor GPLA FIK.

DISCUSSION ON THE POTENTIAL OF SPORT TOURISM IN MAGELANG

The Faculty of Sport Sciences of UNY and the Department of Youth, Sports, and Tourism of Magelang City met and discussed opportunities for cooperation in Sports, Tourism and Sport Tourism on Thursday, (27/01/2022) at UNY. UNY welcomes this collaboration opportunity and is ready to accommodate the wishes of the Magelang City Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office.

BRIDGING FUTURE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN UNY AND MERANTI ISLANDS REGENCY GOVERNMENT

The Meranti Islands Regency Government of Riau Province signed an MoU with Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The agreement was officially signed by the Regent of Meranti Islands Regency H. Muhammad Adil S.H. and the RRector of UNY Prof. Sumaryanto on February 10, 2022.

Managing trash with the Smart Trash app

The Piyungan integrated waste disposal site receives about 300 tons of daily waste every day. Based on the findings of the Environmental Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, each household produces around 0.7 to 1 kilogram of waste per day. Cumulatively, every day 100 garbage trucks dump garbage in Piyungan. Without proper management, this can trigger various health problems, damage to marine ecosystems, and air pollution.

The Value of Local Wisdom in the Memedi Sawah Festival

Javanese farmers traditionally use memedi sawah or scarecrow to protect their crops, especially rice, from bird attacks. The custom of installing memedi  sawah as part of local ecofriendly tradition  on the rice fields has attracted students of the Social Sciences Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, UNY, who researched the values ​​ in the memedi sawah festival in Bantul. They are Basid Elmi Izzaqi, Diah Nadiatul Jannah, Rina Suhartanti, Eva Riska Amalia and Marlinda Putri.

Responding to community needs through the Pejuang Muda Program

Program Pejuang Muda or Young fighter Program is a social laboratory for students to apply their knowledge and knowledge to make a substantial social impact in society. In addition, this program is part of the Merdeka Campus Program under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, and the Ministry of Religion, which every Indonesian student can participate in.

MAPPING THE INTERESTS AND TALENTS OF INDONESIAN SCHOOL (SILN) STUDENTS IN SAUDI ARABIA

UNY held online talent mapping for Jeddah and Makkah Indonesian School students on Thursday, February 3, 2022. In this activity, the UNY psychology team led by Dr. Rita Eka Izzaty, M.Sc. will assess the students of class XVII Jeddah, totaling 40 students and from Makkah as many as 8 students. Also attending this activity, Sutikno, M.Pd., as the principal of SILN Jeddah and the Acting Principal of SILN Makkah.
