THE ROLE OF CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION IN CITIZENSHIP LITERACY

Civic education has a strategic role in forming good, intelligent, democratic, and responsible citizens. Good citizens have characters following the values ​​of Pancasila as the philosophy of the Indonesian. GET RID OF DENGUE FEVER MOSQUITOES WITH GALANGAL EXTRACT

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is commonly found in most tropical and subtropical regions. DHF is caused by the dengue virus, which enters the human bloodstream through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Aedes aegypti's life cycle starts from the egg, larva, pupa, and adult mosquito stages. The egg, larva, and pupa stages of mosquitoes are in the water, while as adults, mosquitoes actively fly to find food from human blood, animal blood, or plant extracts.

The role of UNY Students in alleviating poverty and social problems in East Nusa Tenggara

UNY supports students to participate in various empowerment programs that impact society. One of these supports is provided for UNY students who participate in the "Young Warrior Program" managed by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The program attracted 5,140 students from various universities who were deployed to the community to learn about social problems up close and work to solve poverty problems in 514 districts/cities across Indonesia.

On Tuesday (4/1/2022), the Rector of the Universitas Islam Malang(UNISMA), Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Sc., accompanied by the Vice-Rectors as well as the Deans and Head of the International Affairs Office, visited Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). Household waste is one of the most crucial problems nowadays. In big cities, waste is a significant problem that is still difficult to solve. Based on the type of waste itself, it is divided into two parts: organic waste, which can be decomposed with the help of micro-organisms, and inorganic waste, which cannot be decomposed naturally. The problem of waste in urban areas is an issue that is still considered very important to study about its solution. We need technology to help the community manage waste, especially plastic waste.

Inobike UNY: an electric bicycle innovated by UNY students

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta(UNY) students have successfully made an electric bicycle named "Inobike UNY". This bicycle can travel up to 40 kilometers (km) with charging for approximately 2 hours. The INOBIKE UNY bicycle is an early example of research integrated with learning and community service.

IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF THE PATILO AS LOCAL FOOD IN GUNUNGKIDUL

Gunungkidul has the potential of abundant food sources. One of them is cassava which grows well in Tepus, Gunungkidul. Many  Tepus residents process cassava into patilo. But, unfortunately, the production and marketing activities are still on a traditional scale, so they only reach a limited market.

RBM #2 PROGRAM HELPS 500 STUDENTS LEARN IN PANDEMIC TIMES

Even though students have used an online learning system, there are still many students who have difficulty learning. The Student Executive Board of Faculty of Natural Sciences UNY initiated the MIPA Learning Volunteer (RBM) program to answer this problem. This program help elementary to high school students or equivalent who have learning difficulties during the pandemic by providing consultations on assignments or poorly understood materials via Whatsapp. The subjects offered are Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Science, and English.
