UNY'S MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM RECEIVED SUPERIOR ACCREDITATION FROM BAN-PT

The National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) has officially awarded the superior accreditation category for the UNY Mechatronic Engineering Education Study Program. This accreditation will be valid until June 2026. "This excellent accreditation is a collective result with various parties contributing," said the Dean of FT UNY, Prof. Herman Dwi Surjono, Ph.D.

THE UNY BUSINESS INCUBATOR ENCOURAGES THE ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE OF UNDERPRIVILEGED FAMILIES

The Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia has launched the Social Entrepreneurship program (Prokus). The UNY Business Incubator actively welcomes government programs by assisting fostered partners. The commitment of the UNY business incubator has received positive recognition from the Ministry of Social Affairs through the election of the KPM PKH Wirausaha administered by the UNY Business Incubator at the 2021 Prokus Product Expo, which will be held from 18 to 21 December 2021.

KSI MIST UNY DEVELOPS CULTURAL TOURISM POTENTIAL IN TAMBAKROMO GUNUNGKIDUL

The UNY MIPA Scientific Study Group (KSI MIST) strengthens the development of village empowerment in Tambakromo Gunungkidul. Through the Village Empowerment Development Program (P3D) scheme, UNY students have carried out a series of programs that will take place from August to November 2021. This activity involves the Tabakromo youth group, housewives, art activists, and cultural assistants.

SD Negeri 1 Talang Jawa, Pulau Panggung District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province is one of the schools targeted to implement the Teaching Campus Program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology together with UNY and other partner universities. Alya Nurfita Bella from the Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY, had the opportunity to participate this program.

UNY’S FACULTY OF ECONOMICS TAX CENTER SUPPORTS THE TAX AWARENESS INCLUSION MOVEMENT

The Yogyakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP  DIY) visited the Faculty of Economics UNY last Wednesday (15/12). The visit was led by the Head of Extension, Service, and Public Relations of the DIY DJP, Yunipan Nur Yogananta. The meeting was held to coordinate the inclusion of tax awareness in education at the university level.

INFUSED WATER FROM FRUITS AND VEGETABLES TO KEEP HEALTH

The team of UNY students from the Sociology Education Study Program introduced a herbal drink called Inter Rasa (Infuse Water, Spices, Fruits, and Vegetables). The team consists of Irfan Hermawan, Mustika Natalia, Ayomi Kusumaningrum, Mirda Yanti, and Anisa Nurul Chusna. They believed that the drink they created could maintain the body's metabolism and increase the body's immunity.

THE UNY HIMATIKA PHP2D STUDENT TEAM EMPOWERED PANDANSARI BEACH AS A SUSTAINABLE INTERNATIONAL TOURISM

Pandansari Beach, located in Gadingsari, Bantul, can become an international beach tourism destination. However, the management of this beach is not optimal, and this beach is relatively less well known compared to other beaches in Bantul. Pandansari Beach has an iconic lighthouse, camping ground facilities, and dragon fruit garden agrotourism.

PROCESSING TEMPE WASTE INTO ORGANIC FERTILIZER

Making tempe produces waste that emits an unpleasant odor and contaminates waterways. This waste can be in washing water, cooking water, and soaking water for soybeans and tempeh dregs. However, in wastewater-boiled soybeans, there are nutrients Phosphorus (P), Nitrogen (N), and Potassium (K) which are needed for plant growth rate. Nastiti Estiningtyas, a student of the UNY Science Education study program, tries to process tempe waste to be useful and safe for the surrounding environment.

AGE DETECTION THROUGH FACE PHOTOS

Anthony Fioren H, Mohammad Damarjati P and Syukron Abdul A succeeded in making an age detection application through facial photos. Anthony Fioren stated that they used training data in image data of a human face with age information from the face to train a computer to recognize the age and gender of a human face. "To determine gender and age from the image, we use algorithms and digital image processing methods," he said. It works to extract parts of the human face in the image and then process it so that the output issued is the age and gender.

KEEPING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS' LEARNING MOTIVATION THROUGH ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING LESSON

The Teaching Campus Program (KM) is the flagship program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, which was initiated to save the learning motivation of elementary school students. This program selects 7000 of Indonesia's best students to be delegated to unaccredited elementary schools (SD) in the less developed area. One of the selected students in the selection of Teaching Campus program is Embun Ayudya, a student of the Sociology Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.
