The Community Service Program (PKM) team from the Department of Sociology Education, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FISIP UNY), carried out a series of international collaborative activities in Malaysia. The program was part of an initiative under a long-standing partnership with the Faculty of Human Development, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has reaffirmed its commitment to internationalizing the Indonesian language through an overseas Community Service Program (PkM). The UNY PkM team held a program titled “Vocabulary Training through Traditional Games for BIPA Learners at USSH and HANU, Vietnam” at two partner universities, namely the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) and Hanoi University (HANU), Vietnam.

Five students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) have developed an environmentally friendly photocatalyst based on Cu₂O/CuO@TiO₂ nanocomposites by utilizing discarded copper cables and lime peels. The innovation was carried out under the Student Creativity Program in Exact Research (PKM-RE) as an effort to provide a sustainable solution to pollution caused by textile and batik industry wastewater.

Perseverance and determination have led Yasmin Nur Haniifah to a remarkable achievement. The student with a physical disability has successfully passed Indonesia’s 2026 National Test-Based Admission (SNBT) and has been admitted to the Undergraduate Program in Special Education at the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY).

Yogyakarta – Students from the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) recently conducted a field study implementation project by transforming used cooking oil into candles at Khodijah Sinar Melati Orphanage. The activity involved 17 children aged 12–15 years, ranging from fifth-grade elementary school to eighth-grade junior secondary school students.

Klaten – Students from the 2024 cohort of the Bachelor's Program in Accounting Education at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), recently organized an educational program titled "Youth Talk: Gender Equality" in collaboration with the youth community of Isamtiga Mosque in Klaten. The initiative reflects the students' commitment to supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5: Gender Equality by raising young people's awareness of the importance of equal rights and opportunities for all individuals.

Ilzama Maula Wafda Sabila, a student of the Elementary School Teacher Education Program (PGSD), Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), has been selected to participate in a student exchange and teaching practicum program at the Faculty of Education, Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand. The program runs for nearly five months, from March 16 to July 31, 2026.
