INDONESIAN RECTOR FORUM AND JUDICIAL COMISSION OF INDONESIA SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

Friday (15/4/2016) was a special day for the members of the Indonesian Rector Forum (IRF), especially for those who belong to the IRF Consideration Council. It was because on that day IRF held two agendas simultaneously, which were the Meeting of the Consideration Council and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Judicial Commission of Indonesia. These two important events were held at the RKU room, Rectorate Building of Yogyakarta State University (YSU). Some of the important figures were Prof. Syawal Gultom, Prof. Suwarsih Madya, and Prof. I Nengah Duija.

DARMASISWA STUDENTS: FIELD TRIP TO HISTORICAL RELIGIOUS RELICS

On Tuesday, 12 April 2016, students enrolling Darmasiswa program in Yogyakarta State University (YSU), joined field trip to visit historical religious relics in Yogyakarta. As many as 6 students from 6 different countries, namely Venezuela, Hungary, Poland, Madagascar, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan enthusiastically visited temples around Yogyakarta. Those students arrived at Plaosan Lor and Sambisari temples. The aim of this program was to introduce the international students to ancient religious buildings in Yogyakarta.

SMART BATIK INDONESIA, THE WINNING PRODUCT OF LTIM 2016

A team of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) students led by Miftahudin Nur Ihsan who belong to scientific study community “MIPA Scientist” held in Faculty of Mathematics and Science were announced winner of Student Technology and Innovation Competition (LITM) in creative industry and craft. Organizing this event was the Provincial Education, Youth, and Sport Authority, Yogyakarta Special Province.

RUHUT SITOMPUL INVITES YSU STUDENTS TO DISCUSS BROAD GUIDELINES OF STATE POLICY

Ruhut Poltak Sitompul, S.H. and Martin Hutabarat, two members of the People's Consultative Assembly (Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat/MPR), successfully attracted 300 students of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) to join the discussion concerning the significance of Broad Guidelines of State Policy (Garis-garis Besar Haluan Negara/GBHN). The discussion was part of MPR Goes to Campus. With the title “National Discussion: Legal Form and Consequence of GBHN”, this discussion also invited YSU faculties, namely Prof. Dr. Rochmat Wahab, M.Pd.,M.A. as the Rector of YSU, Dr. Suharno, M.Si.

YSU TO SEND 2015 BEST EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS TO UPM

On Monday (11 April 2016), housed in Senate Meeting Room, Yogyakarta State University (YSU), a farewell party was held to accommodate 4 2015 Best Employees and 11 selected representatives of student organizations in YSU who are about to depart to Malaysia. They are designated to attend sit-in program in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The most outstanding officers will join the program from 12 to 21 April 2016 (10 days), while the students will attend the program from 12 to 25 April 2016 (14 days).

YSU COOPERATION STUDENTS ATTEND MONITORING AND ENGLISH TRAINING PREPARATION

Yogyakarta State University (YSU) has recently held Monitoring agenda for cooperation and English training preparation on Wednesday (6/4). The agenda was conducted in Main Meeting Room, YSU Rectorate building and invited 80 students from Malinau and Mentawai. Sukirjo, M.Pd., Dr. Margana, M.Hum., M.A. and Ari Purnawan, M.Hum., M.A acted as the speakers while facilitating the agenda.

WORKSHOP DANCE HEGINBOTHAM USA

Faculty of Languages and Arts (FLA) YSU on Friday to Sunday (1-3 April) held a big event in collaboration with the US Embassy, Dance Motion USA, and Bumi Purnati Indonesia. The event which was labeled as Dance Heginbotham showing John Eirich, Kristen Foote, Lindsey Jones, Courtney Lopes, Weaver Rhodes, Sarah Stanley, and Macy Sullivia as the dancers. Not to mention, this event also collaborated with a super creative musician as accompaniment; Nathan Koci.

FMS STUDENTS WON THE FIRST PLACE AT NATIONAL LKTI AT ITS

Students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science, YSU won the 1st place in the Scientific Writing Contest (LKTI) National Scientist in Action (SIA) FMIPA ITS 2016, organized by Students Executive Board of Faculty Mathematics and Science, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember. The event is one of the great events of FMS ITS. In this competition was represented by Herianto (Science Education 2013), Anggistia Devianti Iswanto (Science Education 2013), and Dinar Indah Lufita Sari (Chemistry 2014), they are members of the Student Activity Unit, KSI-Mist, YSU.
