FINAL PROJECT PRESENTATION OF DEVELOPING COUNTRIES PARTNERSHIP STUDENTS 2016

(Thursday, 6 June 2016) There was an interesting event going on in Yogyakarta State University. The event that was held by the Office of International Affairs and Partnership was one of the parts of the Seminar class taught by Ella Wulandari, M. A. This event was the final project of the Developing Countries Partnership students (KNB) by presenting or sharing their knowledge to public.

YSU’S RACE CAR MARKS THE FASTEST RECORD DURING THE HISTORY OF SOUTH KOREAN ISCC

Garuda Hybrid 16 (GH 16), the race car of Garuda UNY Team (GUT) from Yogyakarta State University (YSU) has completed its performance in the 2016 International Student Car Competition (ISCC) in South Korea (27-28). The competition took place in the Proving Ground KATRI Songsan-Myun, Hwasong-si, Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea.

OIAP INVITES TWO LECTURERS FROM MINESSOTA, US TO TEACH ENGLISH

To enhance the ability of academics in Yogyakarta State University (YSU) in speaking English, the Office of International Affairs and Partnerships (OIAP) YSU hosted English Training "On the Job Training". This training was designed for lecturers, staff members, and some students, particularly those who would be involved in activities that require communication in English.

OIAP ORGANIZES BIPA TEACHER TRAINING 2016

On Tuesday, 24 Mei was held Opening and First Day of Bipa Teacher Training for basic and intermediate level in Hotel UNY. The training took place for 3 days, from 24 to 26 May 2016. Around 28 participants of basic level and 19 participants of intermediate level attended the training. They came from various backgrounds, namely Indonesian Language, English, Accounting, Russians, German Language, and France Language.

YSU STUDENTS WIN 1st RUNNER UP BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION UNIDA GONTOR 2016

Student Creativity Unit of Entrepreneurship, Yogyakarta State University (YSU) has just won the second place in Plan Competition 2016 organized by Darussalam Gontor University (UNIDA) (11/5). The team consisted of Ahmad Agung Masykuri (Geography Education 2013), Elshandra Gita Valerina Yahya (Natural Science Education 2014), and Tyas Budiarti (Craft Education 2014).

15 MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS HAVE EXCHANGE PROGRAMME IN YSU

Michigan State University (MSU), the United States has just sent 15 doctoral students studying Teacher Education program to follow Student Exchange Programme at Yogyakarta State University (YSU). The program lasted for one week, starting from May 15 until May 20, 2016.

During the programme, the students stayed with a Host Family, that were YSU lecturers. MSU students were also accompanied by YSU graduate student as their buddies, and some student volunteers from the Office of International Affairs and partnerships (OIAP) YSU.

STKIP PGRI BANJARMASIN VISITATION TO YOGYAKARTA STATE UNIVERSITY

Yogyakarta State University (YSU) welcomed the visitation from one of partners, namely Institute of Teaching and Higher Education (STKIP PGRI) Banjarmasin on Thursday (19/5/2016). The visit was a follow-up of the MoU signing in March in Banjarmasin. This visit was led by Dr. H. Abidinsyah, M.Pd., as the Rector of STKIP PGRI Banjarmasin, together with Vice Rector I, Journal Manager, Head of Mathematics Education, Head of English Education, and Head of the Library.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PROFESSIONAL TEACHER EDUCATION

There are several consensus on how to produce good teachers. Many scientific research are focused on teacher education, or the community that supports local wisdom of providing a good education. Scholars in the Western world have explored ways of good teaching, and many research appear lately from researchers in the Asian region. However, the role of the teacher professional development in producing qualified teachers is still debatable.

LEADERSHIP KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT IN UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA (UPM)

"Leadership was spacious, to solve complex problems, leaders need to be able to cross boundaries: between sectors, specializations, geographies, generations, backgrounds and beliefs” . The statement was delivered by Prof. Azzali in a public lecture entitled "The Importance of Leadership to Deal With ASEAN Community", as one of the Staff Apprenticeship Programme activities for the High Achievers, which are employees of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) in 2015 at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The program took place January 12 – April 21, 2016.
