Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Yogyakarta Regional Office HAS signed a memorandum of understanding with UNY in RKU, Rectorate Building (16/5/2016). The representatives of BRI were the Head of the region, namely Widodo Januarso, while YSU was represented by Vice Rector II, Prof. Edi Purwanta.

Yogyakarta State University (YSU) welcomed the visitation from one of partners, namely Institute of Teaching and Higher Education (STKIP PGRI) Banjarmasin on Thursday (19/5/2016). The visit was a follow-up of the MoU signing in March in Banjarmasin. This visit was led by Dr. H. Abidinsyah, M.Pd., as the Rector of STKIP PGRI Banjarmasin, together with Vice Rector I, Journal Manager, Head of Mathematics Education, Head of English Education, and Head of the Library.

There are several consensus on how to produce good teachers. Many scientific research are focused on teacher education, or the community that supports local wisdom of providing a good education. Scholars in the Western world have explored ways of good teaching, and many research appear lately from researchers in the Asian region. However, the role of the teacher professional development in producing qualified teachers is still debatable.

"Leadership was spacious, to solve complex problems, leaders need to be able to cross boundaries: between sectors, specializations, geographies, generations, backgrounds and beliefs” . The statement was delivered by Prof. Azzali in a public lecture entitled "The Importance of Leadership to Deal With ASEAN Community", as one of the Staff Apprenticeship Programme activities for the High Achievers, which are employees of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) in 2015 at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The program took place January 12 – April 21, 2016.

The Office of International Affairs and Partnerships (OIAP) Yogyakarta State University (YSU), recently hosted recruitment and training for BIPA (Indonesian for non-native speakers) Tutors and Student Volunteers at once. The candidates were all undergraduate students of YSU. They will help a lot, especially in the OIAP activities related to international students and foreign guests services. The event took place over 4 days, from 10th – May 13, 2016.

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMNS), Yogyakarta State University (YSU) held the International Conference on Research, Implementation, and Education of Mathematics and Science (ICRIEMS3rd) with the theme of "The Global Challenges on the Development and the Education of Mathematics and Science" in the Auditorium of YSU (16-17/5). The event was opened by the Vice Rector IV YSU, Dr. rer. nat Senam.

Students of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Yogyakarta State University (YSU) were recently announced the champion of the 2016 Tirtayasa Research Competition and Festival (Tracival) which was held on Saturday (7/5/2016) by the Student Activity Unit of TRAS, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. At this competition, the YSU team was consisting Herianto (Natural Science Education 2013) and Dinar Indah Lufita Sari (Chemistry, 2014); both were members of the KSI-Mist FMIPA UNY.

After getting the power of "sangkan paraning dumadi," the Werkudara as the Holy Bima would like to practise it by building a residence at Hargokelasa in Umbul Jalatunda. However, his good intention to educate the community into a cautious, intelligent and noble character was responded negatively by Prabu Duryudana. Bima was accused for carrying out a coup. Therefore, Kurawa assisted by Prabu Karungkala wanted to thwart the teaching activities in the residence. Thanks to the students’ persistence in seeking knowledge, the bad efforts made by Kurawa were thwarted.

The Office of International Affairs and Partnerships (OIAP) held a discussion on Dissemination of Students’ Experience of Going Abroad. The discussion session was held in Main Meeting Room of Yogyakarta State University (10/5). The disemmination was deemed necessary to prepare YSU to become a world class university. Attending the dissemination were students and academics of YSU. They were eager to get information of how to go abroad with academic mission.

Yogyakarta State University welcomed the visit from the heads Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) University at the East Meeting Room 2, YSU Rectorate on Tuesday 10 May 2016. The heads of UPDM(B) are the UPDM(B) Rector Prof. Dr. Rudy Harjanto, M.M., UPDM’s Foundation Chairman Drg. H. Hermanto JM, SKG., M.M., Foundation member, Prof. Dr. Thomas Suyatno, M.M., Vice Rector on Academic Affairs Dr. Sumarhadi, S.E., M.M, Head of the Academic Bureau Dr. Bambang Winarso, M.Sc., and Head of Partnership Division Dr. Mediana Handayani, M.Si. They were welcomed by YSU’s Vice Rector IV, Dr.rer.nat.
