IMPROVING PUBLIC AWARENESS ON COVID-19 WITH COVA APPS

Be alert, don't panic. Prof. Sutrisna Wibawa as the Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) said that this philosophy continues to be emphasized by the campus to face the corona virus pandemic. In order to increase awareness of Corona, UNY launched a smartphone application to prevent the spreading of CIVID-19. This application is titled "Cova-Covid-19".

UNY STRENGTHENING COOPERATION WITH DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, MINISTRY OF LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS

UNY and Directorate General of Intellectual Property Ministry of Law and Human Rights signed Memorandum of Agreement on Center for Technology and Innovation Support. The signing ceremony was held on 10 March 2020 together with several universities. UNY was represented by the Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation, Dr. rer. nat. Senam and Chairperson of the Institute for Research and Community Services, Prof. Dr. Suyanta, M.Sc.

UNY STUDENTS INNOVATION: HERBAL SOAP FROM CASSAVA LEAVES FOR SKIN CARE

Skin health is important. The lack of skin health care may cause skin problems such as wounds and acne.  They can be caused by staphylococcus aureus. To effectively deal with them, it is possible to use herbal soap . Ananda Aprilia and Annisa Nurrohmah, students from UNY Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences take the initiative to   develop herbal soap made of cassava leaves (manihot esculenta).

UNY ENGINEER PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM GRADUATION 2020

To work as a professional, there are three main things needed. Namely expertise, responsibility and partnership. Based on need assessment on engineering expert, there will be around 280 thousand engineers are needed for the next five years.  Unfortunately, there are still lack of qualified professional engineer to work on various project in Indonesia. This challenging fact has set the motivation of UNY to nurture future professional engineers.

COLLABORATION BETWEEN UNY TAX CENTER AND DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF YOGYAKARTA ON PERSONAL TAX REPORTING THROUGH E-FILLING 2020

For a week, UNY's Tax Center in collaboration with the Directorate General of Tax Yogyakarta held a support on filling Annual Personal Tax Report through E-Filling and activation of EFIN started from 24 February to 28 February 2020. This program was conducted at UNY Center of Academic Service Building of Faculty of Economics. By running this program, it is expected that everyone in UNY will be able to complete the tax report before the deadline, 31 March 2020.

FUN ENGLISH CLUB, LEARNING LANGUANGE FOR CHILDREN

Fun English Club (FEC) is old by this year. This event which has a theme “The Great Explorer” is for children 4 – 12 years old. Fun English Club activity is an activity held by Faculty of Languages and Arts, English Language Educations’ student who takes English for Children course as their focus. This activity will start for 2 months, starting from February 28 – April 19, 2020.

THE GROUNDBREAKING OF UNY GUNUNGKIDUL CAMPUS

The presence of campus as a magnet development is not a new thing. Prof. Sutrisna Wibawa, Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) said that Bulaksumur, the location where UGM stands and Depok which are becoming the location UI campus, was used to be an empty land. The development was increasing since the campus existed.

This experience inspired UNY for doing the groundbreaking of the new campus in Gunungkidul, on Friday, February 21, 2020. By building Gunungkidul, which considered as a village, Sutrisna declared that Gunungkidul as develops as Yogyakarta.

PARENTS’ INVOLVEMENT MODEL TO IMPROVE ACADEMIC SKILLS AND SOCIO-PERSONAL SKILLS OF ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

The involvement of parents in children’s education is known as one of the factors that has an influence on the improvement of academic skills and socio-personal skills of the students.  There are many types of parents’ involvement in education that have been implemented in school. Some of parent’s involvement in student’s education in school are: Parents and Teachers Association (POMG), School Committee, Parents’ participation on the event conducted by the school, and parents’ participation in providing school facility.

HANS-JOACHIM ALFE PRESENTED A SOLID WASTE TREATMENT TECHNOLOGY

Various waste treatment technologies such as incineration and recycle have been developed for a long time, even in the last 30 years, the development has been increasing in the field of scope and the technique process. As well as said by Hans-Joachim Alfeld from Senior Experten Service Germany in general stadium in entitled “Best Practice of Solid Waste Treatment Technology in Germany and Other Countries” held by the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering UNY (18/02/2020).
