Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta(UNY) is aware of the importance of providing insight to lecturers on how to handle students with disabilities, so in line with this, the INOBEL UNY team consisting of several lecturers of Special Education, Faculty of Education and Psychology held an activity with the theme "Workshop on Case Method Instruction for Strengthening Computational Thinking of Students with Disabilities" on Thursday, July 3, 2023, at the Porta Hotel.

Calmy Application for Helping People with Anxiety Disorder

Anxiety disorder is a mental disorder that causes excessive anxiety and fear. Anxiety disorder inhibits the learning process, resulting in decreased academic performance. However, this disease is not widely understood by the public. Therefore, students of the Informatics Engineering Education study program at the Faculty of Engineering UNY developed a platform that can educate students about anxiety disorder and mental health disorders. The Calmy platform was developed with a superior feature: a Voice Chatbot integrated with Artificial Intelligence as a user story friend and talk therapy.

Improving the ability to develop Instructional Design for Science Teachers in Sleman Regency

21st-century education encourages students to master valuable skills for being more responsive to change. Teachers, as facilitators, must stay updated with the times. Supporting this, a team of lecturers from the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta organized a Context-based Instructional Design Workshop which was attended by 30 representatives of science teachers in the Sleman Regency Science Teacher Consultation (MGMP) forum on Saturday (29/7/2023) at SMP Negeri 1 Kalasan.

Averrhoa Bilimbi Linn Extract Face Mist to Prevent Acne

UNY students processed herbal plants into a face mist for acne-prone skin that is also useful for moisturizing and brightening facial skin. The face mist is made from belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa Bilimbi Linn) fruit extract mixed with aloe vera and honey. The students are Shofi Alifah Nur Aini of Economics Education, Aprilia Nur Mia Saputri of Accounting, Ilham Alfrizal Akbar of Physics, Faradita of Chemistry and Defid Setiawan of Automotive Engineering Education.

Angga Satriawan Aldi's winning the gold medal for the Electronics category at the 2023 World Skill Competition-ASEAN (WSC-ASEAN) proves UNY's success in providing quality learning experiences. However, this threat does not reduce the interest in developing tourism, especially along the coast of Bantul. This notion can be seen in the increasing number of centers of various activities and the expansion of population settlements. For this reason, active steps are needed to mitigate disasters.

Nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of Kwayuhan youth through Piscok Lumer training

A team of UNY students consisting of Andika Roy Rahmawan, Frida Riyandari, Dina Istiana, Riyan Heriyana, Crisna Dewi, and Dwi Prayitno Dewi held a training on making Piscok Lumer (melted chocolate banana) for youth groups in Kwayuhan, Sleman. This activity is part of applying the Leadership Project course in pre-service teacher professional education.

Field Assessment of UNY Primary Education Doctoral Program

LAMDIK assessors conducted a field assessment of the Primary Education Doctoral Program. The two assessors are Prof. Fahrurrozy from Universitas Negeri Jakarta and Prof. Wahyu Sukartiningsih from Universitas Negeri Surabaya.

Both assessors were welcomed by UNY leaders in the Rectorate Meeting Room of UNY on Friday (28/7). The Rector of UNY, Prof. Sumaryanto, welcomed them to his institution and invited the assessors to collect sufficient data for accreditation purposes.
