THE UNY HIMATIKA PHP2D STUDENT TEAM EMPOWERED PANDANSARI BEACH AS A SUSTAINABLE INTERNATIONAL TOURISM

Pandansari Beach, located in Gadingsari, Bantul, can become an international beach tourism destination. However, the management of this beach is not optimal, and this beach is relatively less well known compared to other beaches in Bantul. Pandansari Beach has an iconic lighthouse, camping ground facilities, and dragon fruit garden agrotourism.

PROCESSING TEMPE WASTE INTO ORGANIC FERTILIZER

Making tempe produces waste that emits an unpleasant odor and contaminates waterways. This waste can be in washing water, cooking water, and soaking water for soybeans and tempeh dregs. However, in wastewater-boiled soybeans, there are nutrients Phosphorus (P), Nitrogen (N), and Potassium (K) which are needed for plant growth rate. Nastiti Estiningtyas, a student of the UNY Science Education study program, tries to process tempe waste to be useful and safe for the surrounding environment.

AGE DETECTION THROUGH FACE PHOTOS

Anthony Fioren H, Mohammad Damarjati P and Syukron Abdul A succeeded in making an age detection application through facial photos. Anthony Fioren stated that they used training data in image data of a human face with age information from the face to train a computer to recognize the age and gender of a human face. "To determine gender and age from the image, we use algorithms and digital image processing methods," he said. It works to extract parts of the human face in the image and then process it so that the output issued is the age and gender.

KEEPING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS' LEARNING MOTIVATION THROUGH ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING LESSON

The Teaching Campus Program (KM) is the flagship program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, which was initiated to save the learning motivation of elementary school students. This program selects 7000 of Indonesia's best students to be delegated to unaccredited elementary schools (SD) in the less developed area. One of the selected students in the selection of Teaching Campus program is Embun Ayudya, a student of the Sociology Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.

LEARN FROM SCIENCE TECHNO PARK OF IPB

The Business Incubator, Patent, and IPR  team held a comparative study at the Science Techno Park, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) on November 30, 2021. The UNY team was represented by Prof. Siti Irene (Secretary of LPPM), Prof. Eli Rohaeti (Chairman of the UNY IPR Team), and other members. Dr. Tri Pratono received the UNY delegation at Science Techno Park of Bogor Agricultural University in the courtroom of the IPB campus.

MINIMUM RESISTANCE SPARK PLUG CAP FROM PLASTIC WASTE

Plastic has the characteristics of being light, easy to shape, and processed. Therefore, it is only natural that its use increases every year. However, the existing plastic waste has not been fully utilized on a large scale, so that it is increasingly piling up and overloaded. Various products from recycled plastic waste are currently more numerous and varied, ranging from handicrafts and paving blocks, and some even process them by pyrolysis into fuel.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the quality of physical health and the quality of mental health. The policy of learning from home does not necessarily have a positive impact. Children who typically study and play with their friends directly should study and stay at home. This situation triggered the emergence of boredom and stress in children.

UNY IS COMMITTED TO DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF THE VILLAGE

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta has long been active in reviving the rural economy, one of which was in 2001 in the village. One example is  Dusun Kiran Canden Jetis Bantul with empowerment and mentoring program through mentoring and empowerment collaboration with IPTEKDA-LIPI (Regional Science and Technology – Indonesian Institute of Sciences) , followed by collaborative mentoring program between universities. This herbal medicine business continued to grow but faced obstacles when the earthquake occurred in 2006.

UNY STUDENTS TEAM WON THE 2021 STATISTICS INFOGRAPHIC COMPETITION

The student team from the Statistics study program of UNY, consisting of Subkhan Hikmah Fitri, Angeliya Milla Khariyani, and Dave Prihadi Nagogo Rajagukguk, successfully won the Static Infographic Competition. This competition is part of Statistika Ria dan Festival Sains Data (Satria Data) which is supported by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas).

TEACHER’S DAY GIFT AT THE 2021 CONSTITUTION AWARD

"This is a sweet gift on teacher's day," said Marwan Arjuli, S.Pd, an alumnus of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program (PPKn), after becoming 1st Winner of the 2021 Constitutional Award, which was held by the Indonesian Constitutional Court on 24 to 26 November 2021. The Constitutional Court held this activity for outstanding  PPKn teachers from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbud-Ristek) and the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).
