UNY WORKSHOP; GUIDANCE IN REGISTERING JOURNALS IN SCOPUS AND WEB OF SCIENCE (WoS)

LPPM Scientific Publication and Periodical Center (PPBI) Yogyakarta State University held a Workshop Register Web of Science Jurnal UNY located at Grand Ambarukmo Hotel Yogyakarta on Saturday, October 30, 2021. The workshop was started with the greetings by Prof. Dr. Samsul Hadi, M.Pd., M.T as the chairman of the meeting at 09.00 a.m. The agenda was thus followed by the Workshop Register Web of Science Journal UNY and attended by UNY lecturers.

The Department of Civil Engineering Education and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (FT UNY) team became Cinnertion's Favorite Champion in the D'Village 10th Edition held by the Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS) (02/06– 31/10/2021). The team consists of M. Fajar Amir (Civil Engineering Education and Planning), Novarida Nurul Sabrina (Applied Bachelor Civil Engineering Study Program), and Raden Rara Bintang Permata Hati (Civil Engineering Education and Planning Study Program) supervised by Qonaah Rizqi Fajriani, M.Eng.

HYDRO COIL TURBINE, A PORTABLE POWER PLANT BY UNY STUDENTS

The need and demand for electricity in Indonesia are significantly increasing, yet the supply of energy sources is diminished. Concerning the issue, water can be a potential resource to be utilized as alternative energy. However, the use of water as alternative energy has not been used optimally. This is what prompted a group of UNY students to invent portable hydroelectric power plants that can meet electricity needs, especially in rural and remote areas.

UNY JOINED THE UNIVERSITY-INDUSTRY RESEARCH ALLIANCE

The Beijing and the Republic of Indonesia embassy facilitated the establishment of the "Indonesia-China-Industry-University Research" alliance to accommodate entrepreneurs and students for both countries. This alliance is a breakthrough in terms of link and match between the industrial sector and universities, said Yaya Sutarya. A total of 150 Chinese universities were ready to cooperate in the alliance, which consists of TOP100 QS WUR and Non-TOP100 QS WUR Colleges.

PIN.AR, THE AUGMENTED-REALITY BASED APP THAT ENHANCES STUDENTS’ UNDERSTANDING OF THEMATIC LEARNING

The vast change of the learning system forced education to abruptly adapt. During the pandemic, all institutions were obliged to speed their learning system to online. This new model has brought a significant impact on the education system, particularly on students. Many complaints and problems were raised which some of them are the lack of teacher-student interaction, less engaging materials, and students’ difficulty comprehending the subject.

Robot Mobo Evo from UNY managed to achieve first place in the National Robot Indonesia Contest (KRI) held this week online. This competition is organized by the National Achievement Center, Ministry of Cultural Education Research and Technology.  Mobo Evo was ranked number one in the Indonesian Football Robot Contest (KRSBI) Wheeled division which is one of the new categories that adopting 1997’s RoboCup Middle Size League international level.

INDONESIAN LITERATURE LECTURER FLA UNY EXPLORES THE ROOTS OF FEMINISM IN INDONESIA

In the archipelago’s ancient story, several women popped up to show their existence and courage to be up against palogocentric’s society. They are Kunti, Sawitri, and Pembayun who conquered the power of patriarch’s society. Sawitri, for example, dared to sue the power of the gods. Kunti mastered the science of summoning gods. Thanks to Pembayun, Ki Ageng Mangir was successfully subdued. Prof. Dr. Suminto A Sayuti added in his presentation that the roots of feminism have been stuck for a long time on the archipelago.
