Fun English Club (FEC) is old by this year. This event which has a theme “The Great Explorer” is for children 4 – 12 years old. Fun English Club activity is an activity held by Faculty of Languages and Arts, English Language Educations’ student who takes English for Children course as their focus. This activity will start for 2 months, starting from February 28 – April 19, 2020.

The presence of campus as a magnet development is not a new thing. Prof. Sutrisna Wibawa, Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) said that Bulaksumur, the location where UGM stands and Depok which are becoming the location UI campus, was used to be an empty land. The development was increasing since the campus existed.

This experience inspired UNY for doing the groundbreaking of the new campus in Gunungkidul, on Friday, February 21, 2020. By building Gunungkidul, which considered as a village, Sutrisna declared that Gunungkidul as develops as Yogyakarta.

The involvement of parents in children’s education is known as one of the factors that has an influence on the improvement of academic skills and socio-personal skills of the students.  There are many types of parents’ involvement in education that have been implemented in school. Some of parent’s involvement in student’s education in school are: Parents and Teachers Association (POMG), School Committee, Parents’ participation on the event conducted by the school, and parents’ participation in providing school facility.

Various waste treatment technologies such as incineration and recycle have been developed for a long time, even in the last 30 years, the development has been increasing in the field of scope and the technique process. Sex education is a teaching effort, awareness, and information about sexual problems given to children, as the effort to keep the children free from a non-formative habit and also close all the possibilities towards forbidden sexual relations. Sex education need to be introduced since the early age of children. One of the factor which influenced the high sexual abuse cases to children is the easeaness access to the porn content.

Eleven Study Programs at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) Graduate School received the title of Premier Institution from ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities).

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of UNY welcomed a visit from Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA) on 17 February 2020. The Dean of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ariswan, M.Sc., DEA said that accepting visits from other institutions is part of institutional service and UNY prepared to share any needed information. “We can discuss further on how to develop institution,” Ariswan said.

Faculty of Languages and Arts’ (FBS) student, Anisa Rahayu got the first place on poetry reading contest held in HAMKA 1 Senior High School, Bekasi as known as SMANSASI. The contest is an annual event managed by Kansas (Literature Writing Community). Anisa read Nirwanto’s “Perenang Buta” poetry. The poetry was published on poetry anthology with the title Jantung Lebah Ratu in Gramedia Pustaka Utama (GPU) 2008.

Two students from Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS), Nadhila Hibatul Nastika Putri and Muhammad Fajar Riyadi (also known as Uye), published an antology of short story book by title Cerita Maya & Mira. The book is published by Quark on February 2019.

Both Nadhila and Uye believed that it is important to published their work in a book. “Publishing a book is really important, because we will have the other work besides the thesis book on our academic life as a college student,” said Uye.
