THE RECTOR CANDIDATES OF YSU PRESENTED THEIR WORKPLANS

Three moral messages full of meaning are posted at the main gate of YSU namely 'Education Investment of Future', 'Piety-Autonomy-Intellectuality' and Cipta-Rasa-Karsa 'are the trust that must be maintained and continued, whoever the leaders and academicians of YSU will be, because there will always be perennial guidelines for responding to changes in internal institutional and external transformations such as globalization.

INNOVATION CAMP TO BE THE ENVIROMENTAL PROBLEM SOLVER

FBS-Karangmalang. The Faculty of Languages and Arts is the only faculty in Yogyakarta State University that is involved in Indonesia Innovative Pedagogy (INDOPED) project. One of the events that helps the implementation of this pedagogy method has been taken place in the form of Innovation Camp, held in Kembang Arum village, Turi District, Sleman, on the 25th to 27th of November 2016.

INDOPED GENERAL MEETING AT YSU

Yogyakarta State University hosted the 3rd INDOPED General Meeting on November 30 to December 2, 2016. INDOPED is a project of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemristekdikti) to enhance the learning capacity of higher education in order to compete globally. The activity was carried out at the Main Courtroom of YSU Rector’s office and was opened by Vice Rector I Wardan Suyanto, MA., Ed.D. (30/11).

COOPERATION POSSIBILITIES WITH FINLAND UNIVERSITY

YSU leaders received the delegation from Finland University on Thursday (24/11) at the University Meeting Room (RKU), YSU Rector’s Office. Prof. Dr. Rochmat Wahab, M.Pd., M.A. and Prof. Dr. Edi Purwanta, M.Pd welcomed Juha Christensen, Pasi Kaskinen, Dr.Minna Makihonko and Dr. Anna Alasuutari openly accompanied by the Deans and the director of the Graduate Schools.

GENERAL LECTURE WITH CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY, THAILAND

Department of Geography Education, Faculty of Social Science (FSS) YSU, conducted guest lecture with the lecture from the Department of Geography, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand (14/11). The class was held as an effort to improve the quality of education and the development of cooperation networks of Geography study in ASEAN countries. This activity is the second guest lecturer in 2016 which was organized by the Department of Geography Education by presenting a geography professor from the ASEAN countries.

GENERAL LECTURE BY PAULO CANAS RODRIGUES

Paulo Canas Rodrigues of the Centre for Applied Statistics and Data Analytics, University of Tampere, Finland who also taught in the Department of Statistics, Federal University of Bahia, Brazil gave a general lecture to students of Mathematics Study Program, FMS YSU, Friday, 11/11. On the occasion, Paulo delivered material on The Role of Statistics in Big Data.

VISITING PROFESSOR AT BURAPHA UNIVERSITY

One of YSU’s lecturer, Prof. Djemari Madapi, Ph.D. became a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Education Burapha University in Thailand some time ago. The Head of Research and Education Evaluation Study program (PEP) Program Graduate School YSU gave materials in the framework of a public lecture foe the students and lecturers of Burapha University with the theme of Evaluation in Educational Quality Assurance.

YSU INTERNATIONAL CULTURE CAMP 2016

A total of 65 international students of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) seemed enthusiastic to follow the agenda Culture Camp 2016 organized by the Office of International Affairs and Partnerships. They come from various countries, such as South Korea, India, China, Thailand, Cambodia and Uganda. Culture Camp 2016 was held in the village Wanurejo, Borobudur, Magelang (11-12 / 11). The main purpose of the holding of an annual agenda is to strengthen brotherhood among international students as well as invite them closer to the culture of Indonesia.

STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE YSU JOINED SIT IN CLASS AT THE KASETSART UNIVERSITY THAILAND

Students of the Faculty of Social Science, Yogyakarta State University (UNY FIS) followed the International Student Program Development Project or Sit at Kasetsart University in Thailand. The activity aims to provide an opportunity for FIS UNY students to gain knowledge about the academic culture, lectures, student activities at Kasetsart University of Thailand (29 / 10-13 / 11).
