The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), through the Eurasia Lecturer Series Vol. 2 Episode 4, held a philosophical discussion on the relationship between knowledge and power from the perspective of French philosopher Michel Foucault. The event featured Reza A.A. Wattimena from Rumah Filsafat and took place at the FISIP UNY Postgraduate Hall.

What began as an effort to find an alternative to the Community Service Program (KKN) led five Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) students to a new path: developing a leather footwear brand now known as Kula Footwear.

The end of 2025 left deep scars in several parts of Indonesia. Floods struck a number of provinces on Sumatra Island, including North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh. In Aceh Tamiang Regency, the floodwaters did not only inundate houses and public facilities, but also disrupted the rhythm of community life. Village fields fell silent, learning spaces came to a halt, and places of worship lost their usual activities.

Students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta conducted a community empowerment activity through a demonstration on organic waste management using biopore methods and gallon composters.

The activity took place in Padukuhan Degolan, Bumirejo Village, Lendah District, Kulon Progo Regency. It aimed to educate and encourage local residents to manage household organic waste in a simple, practical, and environmentally friendly way.

Students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), in collaboration with Universitas Samudra (Unsam), successfully implemented a clean water tank installation program across strategic locations in the Aceh Tamiang Regency. Conducted from January 10 to February 10, 2026, as part of the National Student Study Service (KKN Kebangsaan), this initiative represents a concrete effort by university students to support community recovery following recent flooding.
