A sad atmosphere enveloped Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) during the repatriation ceremony for Edwin Onyango Otieno, an international student who tragically passed away in a traffic accident. The ceremony took place at the Forensic Medicine Building of Dr. Sardjito Hospital on Saturday, January 4, 2024. It was attended by representatives from the Kenyan Embassy in Jakarta, Ms. Maurine Abungu and Mr. Oscar Ombwayo; UNY Vice Rectors; faculty leaders; lecturers from the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences; and Edwin's peers.

Dimas Landung Dwi Prakoso’s journey to higher education is a testament to perseverance and determination. Growing up in Bantul, Yogyakarta, the young man faced significant financial challenges and a lack of familial support for his education beyond junior high school. SciFlow Integrates Science into Outdoor Adventures

A student team from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), consisting of Pangesti Dwi Nugraheni (Biology Education), Pradika Larasati (Mathematics), Fauziatul Adhimah (Chemistry), and Sifa’ul Janah (Biology Education), has established SciFlow Event Organizer. According to Pangesti Dwi Nugraheni, SciFlow operates in the fields of services, tourism, and trade, emphasizing science-based outbound activities. “The initiative began with the idea of increasing visits to the Kampung Wisata Air Titik 0 Km in Central Java by integrating science into outdoor adventures,” she stated on Monday (12/23).

Scholarship recipients from Pertamina’s Sobat Bumi (SoBi) program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) successfully held the second installment of their "Sustainable Energy, Beautiful Village" initiative in Kampung Emas, Iroyudan Hamlet.
