The Master's Program in Physical Education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) recently underwent a comprehensive field assessment by the Indonesian Educational Accreditation Agency (LAMDIK). The evaluation was conducted by esteemed assessors Prof. Dr. Nurul Ihsan from Universitas Negeri Padang and Prof. Dr. M.E. Winarno from Universitas Negeri Malang. Upon arrival, the assessors were warmly welcomed by UNY's Rector, Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, along with other university leaders.

From February 24 to 26, 2025, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participated in a Training of Trainers (ToT) program on public speaking organized by Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital. Held at the Center for Communication and Digital Apparatus Development (Puspa Komdigi) in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, the program aimed to enhance public speaking skills among educators and administrative staff to foster more interactive and communicative learning environments.

On February 22, 2025, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) held its third graduation ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic year at the UNY Sports Arena. The event celebrated the achievements of 1,972 graduates, comprising 63 doctoral, 615 master's, 1,132 bachelor's, and 162 applied bachelor's degree recipients. The Faculty of Education and Psychology awarded the highest number of degrees, totaling 484 graduates.

On Friday, February 21, 2025, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) commemorated its 61st anniversary with a mass aerobics session held in front of the Rectorate Building. The event saw participation from over 2,000 members of the UNY community, including faculty, students, staff, and local residents.

On February 19, 2025, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Eurasia Foundation (From Asia), the Department of Community Empowerment, Villages, Population, and Civil Registration of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), and the Guwosari Village in Pajangan, Bantul, DIY. The collaboration aims to implement a Pentahelix-based village community empowerment program, focusing on education, teaching, research, and community service.

A group of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) in Timpang Village, Pengasih, Kulonprogo, conducted a workshop on utilizing natural ingredients from moringa and tea leaves to create beauty and health products.

On February 17, 2025, students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) conducted a workshop in Kwangen Village to teach the traditional Indonesian textile art of jumputan. This initiative aimed to preserve local culture and empower the community by providing practical skills that could lead to new business opportunities.

Prof. Dr. Kun Setyaning Astuti, M.Pd., a lecturer in the Department of Music Education at the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), recently presented and trialed her innovative research findings at the 36th International Society for Music Education (ISME) Conference held at the University of Sibelius, Finland. The conference, founded 72 years ago, brought together over 2,000 music educators worldwide, providing an opportunity for Prof. Kun to showcase her research funded by the DRTPM DIKTI National Competitive Grant 2024.
