RoboSemp: Assisting Horticulture Farmers in Muntilan with Robotic Solutions

Researchers from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), funded by the 2024 Indonesian Technology Dissemination Program (PDTI), have introduced the RoboSemp (spray robot) versions 2 and 3. These innovations aim to improve the efficiency of spraying horticultural crops, particularly chili plants. The technology was implemented at the Mugi Mulyo Farmers Group in Sedayu Village, Muntilan, Magelang Regency, Central Java, benefiting 428 farmers across 80 hectares of farmland.

UNY Student Honored by Sleman Police for Sign Language Interpretation Dedication

Khairil Mursyidin, a student in the Special Education program at the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) UNY, received an award from the Sleman Police Department for his contributions as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI). The award was presented by the Sleman Police Chief during a formal ceremony, acknowledging Khairil’s dedication to assisting police communications during press conferences for people with disabilities.

The 2024 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI) at Gading Flying Field, Playen, Gunungkidul, saw fierce competition in the Racing Plane Division, which is considered one of the most prestigious divisions. This division challenges participants to design and fly a fixed-wing flying vehicle with high speed, while still prioritizing efficiency in construction design and energy consumption. This year, the theme was FAT (Fast And on Track), emphasizing the importance of speed and precision on the track.
