Bridging Cultures: Princeton Students Embrace Indonesian Language and Culture at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta

Five adventurous students from Princeton University in the United States (Evfrosiniia Mozhaeva, Ahin Kim, Laine Claire Massick, Remzi Benjamin Abaci, Ryan Patrick Moores) embarked on a transformative journey to Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) to immerse themselves in the beauty of Bahasa Indonesia and the rich Javanese culture. Over the course of two terms (August, 2023 - April, 2024), these students delved deep into the intricacies of the language and savored the vibrant tapestry of traditions that define Indonesia.

Fortan Eco-enzyme as a formula for plant nutrition and fertility

Ayu Larasati, Muhammad Akhdaan Al Ghozi, Nabila Nur Qoriyah, Faiz Miftahul Khoiri, Ahnaf Nabil Rusnarasyid, and Heilel Heielma Putri succeeded in creating a product called Fortan Eco-Enzyme. Fortan Eco-Enzyme is a plant formula that has a function to nourish and fertilize plants. This product is made from organic fruit peel waste mixed with brown sugar and fermented for 3 months, so it contains enzymes that are good for plants.

Recovering from minor sports injuries with massage therapy and exercise therapy

"Massage therapy and exercise therapy can be used to treat minor injuries to the limbs for recovery for sportsmen in preparing a fit physical condition in preparation for training, competing and after competing," said Professor of Sports Injury Therapy and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences UNY, Prof. Dr. Ali Satia Graha, M.Kes Monday (8/4).

"Global Gathering: UNY's Vibrant Evaluation Day for International Students"

On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the UNY’s International Office organized an evaluation and academic monitoring event for international students at Bale Timoho, Yogyakarta. The event saw a remarkable turnout, with over 100 students participating, representing various programs, including KNB Programs, UNY DISS, Dharmasiswa, and BIPA. Learning Mathematical Modeling Knowledge with Professor Fugo Takasu

The Department of Mathematics Education UNY held a guest lecture by presenting a Professor from the Faculty of Science Nara Women's University Japan, Professor Fugo Takasu. The lecture took place in Conference Room 1 of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UNY. A total of 50 participants consisting of master and doctoral program students attended the guest lecture with enthusiasm.

Developing Wooden-based Educational Mechanical Toy

Mechanical toys that are driven manually or by electric motors are now widely produced. The existence of plastic toys is mostly mass-produced by large-scale factories. The public response to these educational mechanical toys (science toys) is very high, this is evidenced by the exhibitions that have been demonstrated in museums and entertainment venues in Indonesia, to introduce the public to the phenomena of physics, mechanics, optics, electricity, magnetism and chemistry.

Encouraging the digitization of Doctor of Education through the Digital Doktor Training Hub (Digi-Doc) project

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) received a visit from Birmingham City University (BCU) to present the Digi-Doc project. Besides BCU, there were also representatives from the Northeast Normal University of China, Vietnam National University (VNU), Nguyen Tat Thanh University NTTU) Vietnam, HCMC University of Education Vietnam, London South Bank University, and UNY Indonesia represented by Prof. Dr. Antuni Wiyarsi.  The activity was held Tuesday-Thursday recently at FMIPA UNY.
