Tuesday (18/04/2023) Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture of UNY held a Welcoming Ceremony for Visiting Professors from Suleyman Demirel University (SDU) Kazakhstan, Prof. Adilzhan Anay, Madina Ashirimbetova and Totgyn Ayazbay. Prof. Adilzhan Anay representing the delegation from SDU, expressed his excitement to come to UNY to implement cooperation in the form of a Visiting Professor program.

Telang flowers can grow as ornamental or wild plants with single blue-purple petals. Apart from being an ornamental plant, telang flowers have been traditionally known as an eye medicine and purplish-blue food coloring. This plant has different names in each region in Indonesia, such as in Sumatra called lentil flower, in Java called teleng flower, in Sulawesi called talang, and in Maluku called bisi flower. Telang flower is the most popular edible flower at the moment. Telang flowers are famous for being dried before being consumed as a tea.

Coconut is one of the tropical plants. The majority of regions in Indonesia must have plants whose fruits are multipurpose. Bojong Panjatan Kulonprogo is no exception, as almost all areas have coconut trees. This fact became the target of UNY Vocational KKN students in Bojong IV, who processed it into something different. The students processed it into pastries to utilize local food potential. In addition, this program can also help welcome the formation of MSMEs.
