Turning Waste into Wellness: UNY Students Create 'Kedelite' Snack Bars from Soybean Skins and Jackfruit Seeds

A group of innovative students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has found a creative way to turn food waste into a healthy treat. Through the Student Creativity Program in Entrepreneurship (PKM-K), five students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences—Indah Aulia, Telaga Zia, Mufidah Nur, Adinda Putri, and Aghna Jadarah—developed Kedelite, a nutritious snack bar made from soybean skins and jackfruit seeds. Guided by lecturer Dita Puji R., M.Pd., their mission was to create a delicious snack while also reducing food waste.

UNY Students Turn Water Hyacinth into Natural Food Sanitizer

What once clogged local waterways is now a promising solution for cleaner, safer food. A group of students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has created SteriLiz, a natural antibacterial spray made from water hyacinth, a plant often considered a nuisance. This innovation was born from both environmental concern and a growing awareness of food hygiene.

UNY Earns Global Recognition in QS-WUR Top 500 by Subject

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) continues to shine on the global academic stage. On March 20, 2025, UNY was honored at the "Appreciation for World-Class University Achievements: QS World University Rankings (QS-WUR) Top 500 by Subject" event in Jakarta. This recognition follows the release of the QS World University Rankings by Subject on March 12, 2025, where UNY's English Language and Literature, as well as Education programs, were ranked among the top 251-300 in the world.

UNY Students Promote Food Independence and Community Creativity in Timpang​

A team of Community Service Program (KKN) students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has successfully implemented initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of residents in Pedukuhan Timpang, Gebangan Hamlet, Pengasih Village, Kulon Progo Regency. Led by Muhammad Aji Farid Fadila, with Anindya Nari Dewati as a resource person, the group focused on programs that promote food independence and community creativity.​

UNY's Physics Education Program Undergoes Assessment to Enhance Educational Quality

On February 24-25, 2025, the Bachelor's Program in Physics Education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences underwent a comprehensive field assessment by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Education (LAMDIK). This evaluation aimed to evaluate academic quality, facilities, and learning systems to bolster educational standards within the program. 

Strengthening Excellence: UNY’s Master's Program in Physical Education Undergoes LAMDIK Accreditation Assessment

The Master's Program in Physical Education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) recently underwent a comprehensive field assessment by the Indonesian Educational Accreditation Agency (LAMDIK). The evaluation was conducted by esteemed assessors Prof. Dr. Nurul Ihsan from Universitas Negeri Padang and Prof. Dr. M.E. Winarno from Universitas Negeri Malang. Upon arrival, the assessors were warmly welcomed by UNY's Rector, Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, along with other university leaders.

National Examination from the Perspective of Equitable and Humanistic Education

The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) organized a webinar titled "National Examination in the Perspective of Equitable and Humanistic Education." The event featured two main speakers: Prof. Dr. Sugeng Bayu Wahyono, M.Si., and Dr. Rukiyati, M.Hum. UNY Students Collaborate with Pertamina Foundation to Enhance Mental Health of Visually Impaired Teenagers

To support the mental health of visually impaired teenagers, a group of students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) organized a "Mental Health Bootcamp" at the Yayasan Kesehatan Tunanetra Islam (Yaketunis) Hall in Yogyakarta. The event, held recently, saw the participation of approximately 25 visually impaired teenagers.

UNY Participates in Public Speaking Training of Trainers by Ministry of Communication and Digital

From February 24 to 26, 2025, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participated in a Training of Trainers (ToT) program on public speaking organized by Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital. Held at the Center for Communication and Digital Apparatus Development (Puspa Komdigi) in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, the program aimed to enhance public speaking skills among educators and administrative staff to foster more interactive and communicative learning environments.
