Community Service in Action: Promoting Stunting Reduction in Mangir Tengah Village

Students participating in the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) carried out community engagement activities in Mangir Tengah Hamlet, Sendangsari Village, Pajangan Sub-district, Bantul Regency. The program focused on accelerating stunting reduction through strengthening Posyandu services and providing nutrition education for families with infants and toddlers.

UNY Sends Students for Humanitarian KKN in Aceh, Emphasizing Empathy and Social Care

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has officially sent students to take part in the Humanitarian Community Service Program (KKN Kemanusiaan) in Aceh for the 2025/2026 academic year. UNY Biology Education Students Conduct Mangrove Growth Monitoring and Identification at Pasir Mendit Beach

Students of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) conducted monitoring of mangrove growth and species identification along the coastal area of Pasir Mendit Beach, Jangkaran Village, Temon Sub-district, Kulon Progo Regency, recently. The activity was a follow-up to the planting of 100 mangrove seedlings carried out last October and also served as a field-based learning experience for students to directly observe mangrove biodiversity.

BlockSpire UNY Team Wins Gold Medal, Secures First Place in Digital Learning Innovation at LIDM 2025

Another outstanding national achievement has been recorded by students of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). The BlockSpire Team secured First Place in the Digital Learning Innovation in Education (IPDP) category at the 2025 Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM). The prestigious competition was organized by Belmawa and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology through BPTI and Puspresnas, and was held at Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya from 1 to 3 December 2025.

Pandan Laut Planting at Pelangi Beach Marks Concrete Action Toward SDG Achievement

A total of 22 students from the Department of Physics, Yogyakarta State University (UNY), together with their course lecturer, Dr. Riko Septiantoko, M.Pd., carried out a pandan laut (Pandanus tectorius) planting activity at Pelangi Beach, Bantul, recently. The activity formed part of the Education and Sustainable Development course and served as a concrete contribution by the UNY academic community to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Light Trap Insect: An Eco-Friendly Solution for Agricultural Pest Control

The UNY's students have developed an eco-friendly innovation to help farmers control agricultural pests effectively without relying on chemical pesticides. Through the 2025 Student Entrepreneur Development Program (P2MW) of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, the team—Ihsan Muchlis Amirudin, Afwa Naela Fauzia, and Rose Pita Nur Afifah—introduced the Light Trap Insect (LTI), a solar-powered automatic pest trap designed to support sustainable agriculture.

A delegation from Yogyakarta State University (UNY) took part in the QS Higher Education Summit: Asia Pacific 2025, held at Korea University, South Korea, on 2–8 November 2025. The forum, themed “Advancing Generational Potential: Skills and Partnerships in the Asia Pacific,” served as a global platform for collaboration among higher education leaders and academics from around the world.
